The Logistics Specialist is a key position that focuses on the planning, execution, and reporting of warehouse and shipping operations including both Bostik run facilities and outside warehouses.  Responsible for monitoring all transportation activity (inbound, outbound, intercompany transfer) ensuring compliance to procedures and identifying areas of opportunity. #LI-TJ1

 

Key Activities

  • Drives improved KPI performance in the logistics area, including but not limited to OTS, OTIF, IRA, and customer complaints.
  • Participates in S&OP processes and meetings with the primary role of supplying an analyzing the customer service level and providing recommendations for their improvement.
  • Performing daily warehouse transactions in Bostik SAP
  • Manage 3PL distribution center on hand inventory to meet customer’s demand and meet lead time expectation
  • Provide transportation planning and routing guide support for 3PL distribution centers
  • Evaluate 3PL distribution center’s KPIs and assist management to develop and evaluate relationships with logistics service providers, focusing on continuous process improvement, create best practice processes and improve customer on time delivery service
  • Collaborate with internal functions and support external customers by providing technical expertise
  • Manage the Customer Experience Improvement (CEI) processes for 3PL distribution centers and transportation logistics while identifying and implementing continuous improvement activities
  • Responsible for logistics data mining, management, analytics and reporting
  • Work in conjunction with location managers and transportation and distribution team members to develop standard operation procedures aimed at optimizing the network from a cost perspective and sustaining consistent service performance among all distribution centers
  • Interface with customer service, DC logistics personnel, and carriers to coordinate shipments, troubleshoot issues, and give direction as needed.
  • Evaluate carrier network performance in conjunction with the DLOG team.  Track customer/supplier complaints and drive corrective action, including managing carrier claims.
  • Assist with expedited orders.
  • Assist customer service in providing product availability dates as needed
  • Support site users and project teams as a logistics super key user

 

Qualifications / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, operations management, supply chain management, business administration, or other applicable area.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in a customer-facing environment.
  • Experience in operations, logistics, transportation, or warehouse management preferred.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations including:  pick-pack-ship, inventory controls, warehouse utilization and OSHA regulation preferred
  • Hazmat material shipping and experience desirable.
  • SAP experience highly desirable.
  • Competent in Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of database and ERP system a big plus.
  • Solid foundation of transportation principles including knowledge of various modes of transportation (FTL, LTL, Parcel, Intermodal), fundamental packing/loading standards, and shipper/carrier/consignee expectations.
  • Proven ability to apply creative problem solving, see tasks through to completion and demonstrates a high attention to detail.
  • Strong planning skills with ability to manage competing priorities and effectively contribute to multiple concurrent projects.
