The Tax Manager – Business Process Owner (BPO) is the process architect to design, enhance, implement, and train on Tax processes and reporting hosted in SAP systems and Tax specific software. This position will focus mostly on US and Canada but could include some worldwide projects/initiatives when necessary. This role reports to the Tax Director, it does not have direct reports and has little to no travel with the exception to tax conferences and team meetings when required.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Focus – 50%
    • Partner with Tax Manager to identify improvement initiatives from systems to reporting within and outside SAP.
    • Responsible for estimating project workloads for Y+1 plan and size the team accordingly (internal staff, department BPO’s and/or contractors),
    • Monitor open projects for monthly communication to CFO/VP of Tax, Tax Director, and Head of Finance
    • Serve as Tax subject matter expert and iTeam liaison for all SAP system financial reports.
    • Develops and delivers training programs to internal teams in order to maintain & improve end users knowledge
    • Anticipate any new regulations impacting Tax processes and initiate necessary actions in coordination with iTeam to meet compliance requirements in the deadline
  • Project Management – 40%
    • Project Leadership and Change Agent within Tax organization requiring an excellent understanding of change management and process improvement methodologies, tools and techniques. Tax Lead on major IT projects impacting Tax/Finance processes and organization
    • Lead business process roadmaps and business case for process improvement projects, prioritizing and developing the corporate strategic plan.
  • Other – Tax Department Support – 10%
    • Assist tax team with tax compliance as needed.

 

Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements:

· 8+ years of tax experience across all disciplines of tax, including US and state direct and indirect tax.

· BA/BS in Accounting/Finance; Masters degree in Tax and/or CPA strongly preffered

 

Competencies, Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

· SAP experience required

· Demonstrated experience improving business processes

· Strong interest and interaction with IT systems.

· Experience with Power BI and Alteryx a plus

· Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills required

· Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize

· Global experience preferred

· Proven track record in successful project implementations and strong project management skills

· Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

· Proven ability to manage within their group and influence others within the organization

· Ability to work in a fast paced & multitask project environment

· Strategic thinker with strong analytical and decision-making capabilities

· Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements

· -Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)

· Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents

 

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

· Hybrid schedule – minimum of 3 days in the office

· Requires work beyond normal hours to meet accounting deadlines or other project driven deadlines. This may include some holidays to ensure compliance with reporting deadline requirements.
