The Arkema Goods and Services Purchasing team based out of Radnor, PA, has an opening for a Strategic Procurement Manager. This position reports to the Director of Regional and Strategic Procurement and has one direct report, a contractor for Fleet Services.

 

 

The Strategic Procurement Manager leads, develops and participates in one or more Global/Regional Teams of professionals in driving competitive advantage and cost savings for Arkema. The Strategic Procurement Manager uses their expert knowledge of the creation and management of leveraged agreements, the management of key supplier and customer relationships, and the effective execution of supply planning and management processes, in the successful implementation, execution, and compliance to global procurement and spend category strategies, contracts, processes, and policies. This position will focus on performing these functions for all identified Regional/Global Corporate Services categories that include, but is not limited to, Travel/Conferences, Marketing & Communications, Legal, Human Resources, Contingent Workforce, Vehicle Fleet Management, and Consulting Services used to support Arkema’s Functional, Plant and Technical teams, and responsible for spend up to $85M annually.

 

 

The work environment is primarily office oriented and domestic travel is expected to be up to 15%, primarily project based as needed.

 

 

KEY ACTIVITIES:

 

  • Responsible as subject-matter expert in developing sourcing strategies, managing new and existing Category plans for Regional and Global categories to achieve category maturity, targeted savings and specific annual goals. Apply the category and market analysis strategies and work with key stakeholders to drive and lead a proactive view for opportunities and value. (30%)
  • Responsible for negotiations with identified suppliers for contract completion and key performance requirements. Negotiate value-driven contracts with identified suppliers, and participate in development of process to validate supplier savings, including guaranteed savings, consignment and other savings programs (15%)
  • Lead cross-functional teams to obtain consensus for the strategy applying the approval processes and Manufacturing Leadership/Decision Committee approvals.  Position will operate in a global matrixed environment and will work closely with the global and local management teams. (15%)
  • Manage preferred supplier relationships, including regular supplier review meetings and resolution of contractual issues.  Responsible for overall Supplier Relationship management as it applies to responsible categories and support required risk-based reviews for qualification and supplier maintenance. (10%)
  • Integrate the supplier into operational process of Arkema, including Sustainable and Cybersecurity requirements. (10%)
  • Ensure compliance with all purchasing policies and procedures, ethical practices and adherence to relevant laws and regulations and other applicable corporate requirements and procedures. (10%)
  • Accountable for communicating with and involvement of business management on an on-going basis. (10%)

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. 
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in category management and strategic sourcing of Corporate Services Procurement, preferably in the industrial markets.
  • Advanced experience required in the following areas:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Category Plan Development and Implementation
    • Project Management
    • Supplier Relationship Management
    • Market Analysis and Supply Options
    • E-Sourcing, Risk Based Qualifications, E-Catalogs and P2P process knowledge
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Six Sigma Certification preferred
