Sr. Financial Analyst

Location: Radnor, PA or Cary, NC

Position reports directly to the Finance Manager, Coating Resins; works closely with VP Finance Coating Solutions. Works closely with Global Monomer, Coating Additives and Coating Resins Finance teams and across BU Reporting team.   BU regional and global presidents and France Headquarter team. No direct reports.  

The Sr. Financial Analyst works across various parts of the Global Coating Solutions organization interfacing with people at all levels of the organization, up to and including the Senior Vice President, Coating Solutions.  The majority of the work must be accomplished with influence skills. Weekly and monthly financial analysis with quick and efficient communication of results.  Consolidation and analysis of monthly forecasts of full P&L (sales, margin, operating income) and key financial business indicators monthly and quarterly.  Consolidation and analysis of output for budget and 5-year plans with necessary reconciliation analyses.  Ad hoc analysis requests as needed.  Supporting 31 manufacturing locations across the Americas, EMEA, Asia

Key Activities and Responsibilities

Reporting and Analysis (70%)

• Develop and prepare monthly reporting metrics for Coating Solutions Segment, including dashboards and analysis reports.  Ensure that results accurately reflect operational activity. 
• Prepare the monthly Coating Solutions Executive Committee deck.
• Produce complete, accurate output under tight timelines.
• Synthesize BU information in a logical manner for executive level presentations.
• Coordinate and optimize the process for collecting and presenting key financial and business indicators for monthly reporting and analysis, including the monthly preparation of the Coating Solutions forecast.
• Provide financial leadership to businesses; develop financial training as necessary for each aspect of the business.
• Lead effort to improve business processes, to allow for more value-added analysis versus reporting.
• Influence and Improve business decisions by providing financial analysis and new tools and techniques.
• Liaison with cross BU businesses, functional and FP&A leaders.
• Ad hoc analysis when requested from various groups/teams.

Planning and Budgeting (30%)

• Consolidate Coating Solution forecasts and budgets.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budget, including slide deck for Senior Management.
• 5-year Plan preparation.

Qualifications/Education

• BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or technical field.  MBA a plus.
• 5-8 years finance/accounting experience required.  Experience in a manufacturing environment highly preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel - Strong analytical skills with ability to develop and maintain extensive and complex spreadsheets.
• SAP experience strongly preferred.
• Structured approach to analysis methodology to ensure consistency of information.
• Team player, with ability to pull together necessary resources and resolve systematic problems.
• Experience documenting work processes to ensure consistency and repeatability of analyses and resulting output.
