FP&A Analyst I - Power BI Job

Job Summary:

This role reports to the Corporate FP&A Finance Director and has no direct reports. This position works cross functionally and contributes to the analytical capabilities across the Arkema US organization. Assists the business with overall systems strategy and ensure it aligns with Arkema vision. This position will be part of team delivering analytics solutions for Arkema US and responsible for defining detailed requirements to design and deliver analytics solutions including dashboards, visualizations, and reports. This role also analyzes potential reporting capabilities to support the generation of automated reports to assist business management to understand their results and determine actions to take.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Design, Create & Maintain Power BI applications (50%)
• Collaborate to design and develop global end-to-end business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI, including data modeling, data integration, and report/dashboard creation.
• Create and maintain data connections and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Power BI.
• Develop and maintain robust Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that provide actionable insights to support business decision-making both regionally and globally.
• Leverage Power Automate to deliver results to key users
• Ensure data security and compliance standards are met by implementing appropriate security measures and access controls within Power BI.
• Optimize performance and usability of Power BI reports and dashboards by tuning queries, implementing efficient data models, and applying best practices.

 

Training, lending knowledge to end users and collaborating with BU’s and global resources (20%)
• Effectively train end users how to utilize developed reporting tools
• Collaborate with stakeholders regionally and globally to integrate Power BI with other systems and data sources, including on-premises and cloud-based platforms.
• Collaborate with all areas of the business to solve business issues

 

Learning current applications and perform research on new technologies (20%)
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in Power BI and related technologies, and proactively apply them to enhance the overall BI solution.
• Build a strong working knowledge of business processes and supporting data across the organization
o Will need to learn/master multiple SAP systems and the processes used in them in order to develop reporting using the data from those systems
o Will need to develop reports using multiple SAP systems as sources
o Will collaborate closely with our Finance ITeam group
• Leverage external data sources to improve business analytics

 

Financial Analysis (10%)
• Perform financial analyses on business activity to be provided to senior management as part of corporate FP&A team

Minimum Qualifications and Education Required:

Min Years of Experience:  

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience is preferred
• Experience in business finance is preferred in order to effectively provide data requests

Education and area of focus:

• BS or BA Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, Data or Computer Science or related field

Certifications/Trainings:

• Certifications in data analytics, business intelligence, or financial systems preferred

Competencies -Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs)

• Development experience with Microsoft Power BI (including M and DAX languages) or similar data visualization tool regarding features and ability to create rapid visualization prototypes is preferred
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Good understanding of SAP or other ERP systems and processes
• Baseline knowledge of Power Automate and Power Apps
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational, problem solving, project management and communication skills
• Strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities
• Operates with integrity and high degree of confidentiality with intellectual property, technology and other confidential information/knowledge acquired in position

• Demonstrates proactive interest and ability in solving problems and best ways to approach tasks
• Actively drives organizational process improvement
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team

HES Requirement – All Jobs

• Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
• Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
• Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

• Hybrid schedule – minimum of 3 days in the office
• Requires work beyond normal hours to meet accounting deadlines or other project driven deadlines. This may include some holidays to ensure compliance with reporting deadline requirements
• Occasional travel as needed <10%.
