-    Reports to the Manager, Small Blends and Warehouse.
-    Advises, consults, and coordinates with Quality Assurance, Production, Maintenance, Truck Drivers, Research and Development, Environmental Health and Safety Department.


JOB DIMENSIONS
-    General purpose: As a Warehouse Operator you will be performing a variety of material handling warehouse duties.  Schedule Mon – Fri 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, overtime on Saturdays when business demands.


ACTIVITIES
-    Re-package chemical products from bulk containers to drums and totes. Frequent safe operation of hand equipment at the fill station.
-    Frequent safe operation of forklifts to load and unload shipments and move material within the warehouse; Safe operation of yard trucks to move material within the facility.
-    Ensure required GHS labeling/placarding is on all packages, trucks, and trailers.
-    Ensure the right packages are loaded onto the right trucks to be shipped to customers by verifying lot numbers and product codes match customer order numbers.
-    Responsible for ensuring all packages and trailers meet DOT specification prior to shipping; includes properly closing totes and drums using a torque wrench and applying seals to prevent tampering.
-    Completion of accurate documentation necessary for shipments, including truck loading logs, Bill of Ladings with applicable Safety Data Sheets (SDS), etc.
-    Batch blending of chemical products in quantities of 50 - 7,000 gallons.
-    Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping practices.
-    Participate in daily, monthly, and annual inventory counts.
-    Other duties as assigned.
-    Very limited travel, for training.


CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT
-    Working environment is in a chemical facility. Must be comfortable with outdoor working conditions, routinely exposed to the elements. Frequent walking in a large production facility.
-    Must be able to safely perform all the duties of the job.
-    Capable of bending, climbing, stooping, sitting, and standing for long periods of time on concrete.
-    Must be able to pass a post-offer/pre-placement drug screen, background check, job-related physical abilities, and pulmonary function test. (Must also follow facial hair guidelines.)

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
-    Strong math skills, and ability to pass a pre-hire job-related math exam, required.
-    Ability to pass post-hire job-related DOT placarding, International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG), International Air Transportation (IATA), and other applicable trainings and exams.
-    Ability to understand the basics of chemical properties and recognize potential hazards.
-    Willing and able to comply with company safety policies and practices.
-    Willing and able to safely operate hand tools, forklifts, and yard trucks.
-    Attention to detail and ability to read, understand, and follow warehouse schedule and procedures.


QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
-    High school diploma or GED equivalent, required.
-    Experience in warehousing, preferred.
-    Forklift experience (sit down, gas), a plus.
