Market Manager - Road Science Asphalt Additives & Systems Job

Job Summary:
Responsible for leading the marketing efforts of our Road Science Asphalt Additives business using research and market facing time to help further promote our asphalt additives and systems to find new opportunities, identify new applications, gain market share, drive strategies and initiatives, and promote the Arkema brands. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the asphalt industry and related chemical market, particularly as it pertains to the road paving and roofing market segments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Based on Asphalt Additives market research, supplies the organization with relevant, reliable, actionable, and synthesized information that leads to informed decisions (market database, market sizes and segmentation, industry trends, market dynamics, key developments, competitors’ share and landscape)
Develops comprehensive Asphalt Additives and Systems marketing campaigns to support successful launch and commercialization of new products for various applications (Hot Mix, Warm Mix, Cold Mix, Rejuvenation) - Establishes market segmentation, target customer profiles, product positioning, differentiated value propositions, and go-to-market priorities for the Asphalt Additives and Systems portfolio
- Establishes a structured voice-of-customer process and translates customer insights into product, service, positioning, and commercialization prioritiesDevelops strategic plans to grow business and achieve financial goals while sustaining our mission of offering customers the most innovative and sustainable solutions
- Key contributor to business development processes including idea generation, financial modeling, business planning and marketing initiatives
- Develops annual market plans, budgets, volume forecasts, and financial projections in alignment with business objectives
- Defines, monitors, and reports key performance indicators including revenue growth, profitability, market share, pipeline, campaign effectiveness, product adoption, and return on investment
- Manages the product and portfolio lifecycle by monitoring performance, identifying portfolio gaps, prioritizing investments, and recommending product rationalization or discontinuation when appropriate
- Translates competitive intelligence into actionable recommendations for pricing, positioning, portfolio strategy, product development, and market entry
- Monitors regulatory, agency specification, environmental, and sustainability developments that may affect market access, customer demand, product requirements, or portfolio strategy
- Responsible for the, pricing policy and Bill Of Materials (BOM) optimization ensuring profitability of the Arkema Asphalt Additives and System markets/portfolio.
- Participates in regional and national industry association committees and events to build company credibility and support strategic growth goals
- Actively supports the sales team by doing joint visits at customers or during industry conferences
- Partners with the Sales team on account targeting, opportunity development, pipeline reviews, sales enablement tools, and conversion of market opportunities into profitable revenue
- Supports the R&D portfolio regular reviews. Commercial and project leader for most of the Asphalt Additives and Systems related Stage Gate ASAP projects
- Leads commercialization and launch readiness, including launch plans, pricing, sales training, channel preparation, adoption targets, and post-launch performance measurement
- Develops and implements marketing communication strategies that promote the Arkema brand, including the creation of Asphalt Additives and Systems marketing materials
- Conducts product and market training for sales team to enhance knowledge and skills
- Lead cross functional team special projects needed to drive the business forward
- Provides leadership to direct reports through objective setting, coaching, performance management, development planning, and ongoing feedback
30 to 40% travel with overnight stays in the US and Canada
Minimum Qualifications:
Min Years of Experience
10+ years’ experience in marketing in a business-business sales environment
Education and area of focus
Bachelors in Marketing, Business, Chemistry or Engineering.
Certifications/Trainings:
Competencies -Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs)
Experience commercializing new products and penetrating new markets
Experience working effectively with peers cross functionally to grow business
Prior Asphalt industry experience is preferred
