We are seeking a results-driven, commercially astute Account Manager with a strong sales background and technical expertise in packaging adhesives to join our NA Packaging Adhesive team. This role is ideal for a proven sales professional who excels in complex B2B sales cycles, builds deep customer relationships, and thrives in a highly technical, solutions-oriented environment.  You will be responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic account management, new business development, and consultative sales, with a focus on customers in the food & beverage, personal care, and consumer goods markets.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Own and execute a sales strategy to achieve annual revenue and margin targets across the assigned territory.
  • Develop territory plans, target account lists, and penetration strategies to drive new customer acquisition and market share gains.
  • Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategy, and long-term agreements to maximize profitability and value creation.
  • Identify and close new business opportunities through cold calling, referrals, and participation in industry events.
  • Maintain and expand relationships with large, multi-site customers and key accounts.
    Strategic Account Management
  • Manage a portfolio of key customers with accountability for revenue, retention, satisfaction, and growth.
  • Deliver quarterly business reviews and value-added reporting to top-tier accounts.
  • Coordinate multi-stakeholder engagement strategies (procurement, operations, engineering, sustainability, etc.).

Technical Sales & Solution Development

  • Provide product recommendations and process improvements tailored to customer needs using a consultative sales approach.
  • Partner with Technical Service teams to resolve application issues, conduct adhesive trials, and optimize line performance.
  • Deliver hands-on technical support during start-ups, qualifications, and troubleshooting.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Monitor industry trends, customer behaviors, and competitor activity to inform sales strategy and positioning.
  • Provide VOC feedback to product management and R&D to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Sales Process & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of sales activities, opportunities, and forecasts in CRM (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Report on sales performance, pipeline progress, customer feedback, and competitor developments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • 7+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in industrial adhesives, packaging materials, or a technical product environment.
  • Knowledge of hot melt adhesives, end-of-line packaging processes, and packaging automation equipment (case erectors, cartoners, etc.) is a strong advantage.
  • Experience working with distributors, OEMs, end-users, and navigating complex sales cycles.
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding annual sales quotas, winning new business, and managing multi-million-dollar accounts.
  • Strong negotiation skills and highly organized.
  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Salesforce or equivalent CRM tools.
  • Travel up to 50% across North America.
