Job title:

Mixing / Production Operator

Situation in organisation (enclose a copy of your organisation chart)

Member of plant production team. Reports to Production / Mixing Supervisor.  

Work and train on multiple machines and support team members when needed in any function needed.

Focus will be Safety, Quality and Output

 

Job dimensions
  • Produce products per batch formulations utilizing various mixing, blending, and packaging equipment.
  • Follow all EHS and Quality procedures to produce products safely, within specification.
  • Record manually and via computer, all material usage, accurately fill out process batch sheets.

 

Activities
  • Follows all plant policies and practices to ensure safety, quality, service, and cost objectives are met.
  • Practice continuous quality improvement in all processes. Fully supports Bostik's goal of zero workplace safety incidents and supports and participates in Bostik's EHS Programs.
  • Practice safe work habits in accordance with OSHA and EPA guidelines.
  • Make minor adjustments to equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Follow process batch sheets to produce quality products per ISO Standards.
  • Work cooperatively with all employees and leadership.
  • Assists in maintaining an acceptable level of housekeeping.
  • Completes all required paperwork accurately.
  • Operate various pieces of equipment including but not limited to: mixers, blenders, packaging lines, forklifts, palletizers, basic hand tools.
  • Use computer, controls to operate equipment.
  • Work in other areas as needed.

 

Context and environment
  • Work in a fast-paced production environment where safety, accuracy, and speed are essential. Simultaneous competing priorities require effective and efficient multi-tasking to succeed.
  • Ability to stand /walk for long periods of time, may lift up to 75 lbs, (75 lbs is occasional and/or team lift)
  • Lifting and reaching to load packaging parts, manually filling boxes, lifting and stacking full (12-50 lbs.) boxes frequently.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable with the use of material handling equipment and hand tools.
  • Use of computer for data management, production, downtime, efficiency, training and others

 

 

Accountabilities

  • Maintain equipment (Minor problem resolution, cleaning and some small maintenance activities) report issues to leadership as needed.
  • Completion of assigned tasks within time allotted (Changeovers, Machine start-ups and production output)
  • Use problem solving techniques to eliminate waste and errors.
  • Adherence to Bostik, OSHA, and local regulations / policies.
  • Understanding of production and process equipment.
  • Working with teams & within teams to achieve results including safety, customer and financial goals

Qualifications / experience required

  • High school diploma / GED, ability to read English and perform basic math skills.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to operate manual, automated and semi-automated equipment. (Including controls and interfaces)
  • Willing to work an off shift and overtime as necessary.
  • Forklift Experience desirable
  • Some computer Skills to be able to interface with Printers and self-help on Training and self service benefits
