Shipping & Receiving Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:

The Shipping & Receiving Specialist supports the logistics function by performing all tasks related to receiving raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, as well as preparing customer shipments. This role interacts with manufacturing, maintains inventory accuracy, and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilize SAP to receive raw materials, packaging supplies, and purchased finished goods.
• Use SAP to pull and prepare finished goods for shipment.
• Maintain accurate inventory through double‑checking quantities and reporting discrepancies.
• Report spills, damaged product, or any inventory loss immediately.
• Ensure compliance with all transportation and environmental regulations.
• Operate forklifts safely and follow all plant safety rules.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in warehouse and shipping areas.
• Accurately complete all required documentation.
• Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counting.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and EHS regulatory requirements.
• Load trucks for shipment and handle Bill of Lading paperwork.
• Create Production Orders in SAP for manufacturing.
• Perform customer‑specific requirements such as labeling.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/TECHNICAL SKILLS/BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:

• High school diploma or GED; ability to read English and perform basic math.
• Minimum one year of warehousing experience.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft applications.
• Forklift experience.
• Willingness to work off‑shifts and overtime.
• Ability to maintain forklift license and DOT certification if required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/TECHNICAL SKILLS/BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:

Experience with SAP, logistics operations, and advanced inventory control practices is preferred.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

Reports to the Logistics Manager and is part of the plant logistics team.

WORKPLACE TYPE:

On‑site (Warehouse / Manufacturing Environment).

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Minimal travel required.
