Logistics Coordinator Job

SITUATION IN ORGANIZATION
The Logistics Coordinator position reports directly to the Plant Manager with a functional tie to the HR Manager and the HSE Specialist, both roles within the Grand Rapids site. The role is expected to support on-site logistics & administrative duties.
KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Logistics Coordination-50%
• Assist in preparation of shipment labels and manifests
• Ensure timely processing of utility/logistics invoices
• Process and file logistics paperwork according to DOT requirements
• Order logistics/production supplies in SAP and office supplies from determined vendors
• Shipment & mail coordination including customer samples, as requested
• Participate in daily production scheduling meetings and assist with the coordination of inbound/outbound logistics
• Coordinate shipping activity on hazardous/non-hazardous waste and recycled solvent loads
• Support the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) by reviewing and approving logistics/production SOP’s
• Control site gate entry access for visitors, contractors, drivers
HR Related Administrative Duties – 25%
• Facilitate management of time clock system for payroll
• Create new employee personnel files and ensure new hire paperwork completion
• Update bulletin boards and employee information monitors throughout the site
• Track the employee site recognition program and coordinate development of the monthly recognition letter
• Learning Management System Training representative
• Provide monthly training report updates
• Assist with coordination of community outreach events
• Coordinate the hosting of site events, meals, celebrations, etc.
• Coordinate employee engagement events for Wellness and assist in coordination of Family Day
• Coordinate cleaning activity of site administration areas.
HSE Related Administrative Duties-20%
• Assist in data entry for sites such as Health and Safety data and tracking systems
• Assist with development of Job Safety analysis creation/review
• Enter data for Safety observations, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Near misses, etc…
• Facilitate uniform and safety protective gear orders for current and new hires including uniforms, safety glasses, shoe vouchers and eye glasses
Other duties as assigned-5%
REQUIRED EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/WORK EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED
- 1-3 Years Administrative or relative experience required.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office and other PC applications. SAP experience desired.
- Ability to work with others internally and externally with professionalism.
- Excellent organizational skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
- This position is located in a chemical manufacturing plant.
- Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements.
- Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Based Safety, SafeStart, etc.).
- Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident, or injury incidents.
