We are seeking a Flexible Packaging Technical Service Leader to lead and manage our North American TS&D team for flexible laminating adhesives and coating solutions. This role is central to aligning technical service & development initiatives with our global and regional business strategies, supporting innovation, and developing high-performing teams.  As a member of the North America Flexible Packaging Leadership Team, you will partner with Commercial, R&D, Marketing, Product Line Manager, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to deliver customer-centric solutions, accelerate application development, and drive sustainable business growth. #LI-TJ1

 

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Align technical service & Development efforts with global and AP&C regional strategies. Manage the Application Development, Innovation Pipeline for the team
  • Drive performance of the NA Flex Pack TS&D team to meet business objectives and KPIs in partnership with Commercial organization.
  • Ensure all technical activities comply with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards.

Team Management & Development

  • Organize, prioritize, and oversee team activities and lab operations to meet customer and project needs.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and development plans for direct reports.
  • Lead recruitment and succession planning; support professional development through tailored Employee Development Plans (EDPs).

Technical & Application Development

  • Partner with Sales, R&D, Marketing & Product Line Managers teams to support product introductions, innovation, and customer application needs.
  • Lead technical support efforts for customers partnering with manufacturing, supply management, and Product Line Managers.
  • Build and manage a robust, value-driven innovation pipeline aligned with AP&C strategy (e.g., sustainability, market growth).
  • Develop and upgrade capabilities for the TS&D lab to support application development efforts as well as Develop capabilities for customer / OEM collaboration from the technical center.

Process & System Optimization

  • Develop and improve systems, processes, and procedures for compliance with EHS and quality standards.
  • Track TS&D metrics: lab workflow, new product launches, and progress toward goals.
  • Contribute to budget planning and manage team operations within budgetary limits.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Interface with global TS&D counterparts to ensure alignment in standards, testing, product transfers, and best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, OEMs, suppliers (inks, films, etc.), and industry associations.
  • Provide regular reporting to leadership on key initiatives and progress.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of industrial experience in the materials or polymer industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of flexible packaging, lamination adhesives, and/or coatings—particularly for food or industrial applications.
  • Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and a passion for innovation.
