JOB SUMMARY:

The Site EHS Manager ensures compliance with all EHS regulatory standards, leads cultural and behavioral safety improvements, and serves as the technical resource for environmental, industrial, and process safety. The role also leads CSR initiatives and ensures sustained EHS program performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage EHS programs including training, incident management, waste minimization, environmental reporting, and emergency response.
  • Serve as Incident Commander/Safety Officer in coordination with local emergency agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with PSM program requirements, including employee participation and training.
  • Foster a positive safety culture and lead Safety Committee activities.
  • Coach and support management teams on EHS-related matters.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies on compliance and enforcement matters.
  • Develop and manage the EHS Management System, including procedures, communications, and training.
  • Lead or participate in incident investigations and process hazard analyses (PHAs).
  • Provide technical EHS support for capital project reviews.
  • Monitor, track, and report EHS KPIs and develop improvement action plans.
  • Use A3, 5Y, and fishbone tools to drive continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/TECHNICAL SKILLS/BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:

  • Undergraduate degree in occupational safety or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience OR 8+ years progressive EHS experience in related industries.
  • PSM experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state EHS regulations, PSM, emergency response, and hazardous waste operations.
  • Licensed Wastewater Operator in Georgia or ability to become licensed within 6 months.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated project leadership success.
  • Proficient with databases, web tools, and spreadsheets.
  • Subject matter expertise in at least one EHS area (e.g., ergonomics, BBS).
  • Ability to work independently and achieve company goals and targets.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/TECHNICAL SKILLS/BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:

Advanced EHS certifications, deeper PSM expertise, and additional Continuous Improvement experience are preferred.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

Reports to the Plant Manager with a dotted line to the Director of EHS & Security.

WORKPLACE TYPE:

On-site (Manufacturing and Industrial Environment).

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Occasional travel required (as needed for company requirements).
