Production Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY:

The Production Supervisor oversees daily production operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. This role supervises operators and leads, manages production planning activities, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with Planner/Scheduler to develop production plans that meet customer requirements.
  • Direct supervision of production personnel including assignments, training, discipline, and attendance.
  • Ensure process record accuracy before submission into Movex.
  • Promote plant safety initiatives including 4S, SBO, Pure Safety, Safety Zone, and 5S.
  • Support Continuous Improvement through shop-floor problem solving and Kaizen participation.
  • Manage authorized purchasing to meet budget.
  • Support implementation of 6 Box Rules.
  • Ensure materials are available for production and coordinate as needed.
  • Adjust workforce distribution to meet production demand.
  • Make regular rounds to proactively identify and resolve safety, quality, and production issues.
  • Communicate and schedule maintenance needs.
  • Lead daily improvement of safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Ensure KPI tracking and follow-up corrective actions.
  • Use A3/B3 problem-solving tools for root cause elimination.
  • Coach, train, evaluate, and recommend wage adjustments for team members.
  • Participate in hiring processes.
  • Complete and enforce shop floor 5S checklists.
  • Audit production documents for accuracy.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/TECHNICAL SKILLS/BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:

  • 3+ years of manufacturing supervision or leadership experience.
  • Associate degree in Business, Industrial Operations Management, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of production, logistics, and maintenance operations.
  • Working knowledge of ISO standards.
  • Material planning experience.
  • Education/experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or Theory of Constraints preferred.
  • OSHA training preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven conflict resolution experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/TECHNICAL SKILLS/BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:

Additional leadership experience, advanced CI training, and strong cross-functional collaboration skills.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

Reports to Production Manager. Operators and leads report to the Production Supervisor.

WORKPLACE TYPE:

On-site (Manufacturing Environment). Approximately 85% on the production floor.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Minimal travel required.
