Laborer / Light Equipment Operator

Location: Arkema – Calvert City Site
Position Type: Union Hourly Role

Job Summary

The Laborer/Light Equipment Operator at Arkema’s Calvert City site is a union hourly position responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support the efficient operation of the facility. This role involves operating light equipment, assisting with maintenance activities, handling materials, and ensuring a safe, compliant, and clean work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate light equipment such as forklifts, tractors, and other machinery as required.
  • Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport materials throughout the Calvert City site.
  • Maintenance Support: Assist maintenance teams with routine and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Site Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including waste disposal, sweeping, and mopping.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all Arkema and Calvert City site safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to operate light equipment safely and efficiently.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Basic understanding of maintenance procedures.
    • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions typical of the Calvert City site.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.

Work Environment

  • Industrial setting at the Arkema Calvert City site with exposure to machinery and equipment.
  • Mandatory compliance with all site-specific and corporate safety protocols.
