Day Mechanic “A” Rate $43.07/hour

 
 
Job dimensions
  • Repairs Pumps, Valves, and other Process Equipment with minimal supervision. 
  • Assists with in field troubleshooting of equipment, PLC’s and other common Chemical Plant Equipment
  • Assists with RCA’s and other incidents investigations
Activities

· Follows all plant policies and practices to ensure safety, quality, service, and cost objectives are met.

Practice continuous quality improvement in all processes. Fully supports Bostik's goal of zero workplace

safety incidents and supports and participates in Bostik's EHS Programs.

· Knowledgeable of and practices root cause analysis

· Knowledgeable of and practices Preventive and Predictive Maintenance

· Be a project team member and lead some small projects or sub-projects of a larger project.

· Practice safe work habits in accordance with OSHA and EPA guidelines.

· Repair and maintain equipment and assets in a safe and efficient manner.

· Work with production/operations and have knowledge of Bostik products and equipment.

Understanding maintenance processes, applications, and terminology related to manufacturing. Daily

use of hand and power tools. Must safely repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, mechanical,

and HVAC systems. Basic welding, millwrighting, and blueprint and schematic reading.

· Work cooperatively with all employees, vendors, and contractors.

· Assists in maintaining an acceptable level of housekeeping.

· Completes all required paperwork accurately.

· Performs various troubleshooting and preventative maintenance duties to equipment as needed.

· Work in other areas as needed.

· Tracking performance against goals including – uptime, downtime, mean tie to failure etc.

 

The ideal candidate:

  • This position works in an maintenance shop and production environment.
  • Demonstrates commitment to HES though high visibility and actions
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Participates in HES activities provide by site management and Bostik Inc.
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents.

 

Accountabilities

  • Must be able to multi-task and efficiently operate in a stressful work environment.
  • Must have strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of detail and accuracy required.

Qualifications / experience required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent: 10+ years of experience required.
  • 5+years experience with additional Trade School Certificates: Welding, Pipefitting, Millwright, Electrical, PLC, HVAC
  • Chemical Plant experience preferred.
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Proficient Computer Skills (Outlook, Word, SAP, Excel)
