Senior Market Manager – Advanced Packaging

Division: Bostik, INC. Advanced Packaging Business Unit

 

Situation in organization

  • Reports to NA AP Business Director
  • Manages 1 direct report – Sustainability Market Manager
  • Member of the NA AP SteerCo

 

Job dimensions

  • Collaborates and supports Global Market Managers on global segment strategy. 
  • Responsible for developing the local marketing plans for the Consumer Goods, Flexible Packaging, and Tape and Label market segments. 
  • Works very closely with Market Communication on content strategy, product launches, website, and sales enablement.
  • Responsible for ensuring market trends, VOC, and competitive intelligence are integrated into our business planning.

 

Activities

  • Conducts market research for the Consumer Goods, Flex Pack, and T&L market segments. Builds actionable strategic plans.
  • In conjunction with the MST’s, builds and executes annual market plans for each of the 3 market segments. 
  • Supports the Sustainability Market Manager in the development and execution of our Sustainability strategy.
  • Works closely with PLM’s to ensure the development and execution of the product line roadmaps.
  • Conducts research and analysis on new markets including strategic business development opportunities.
  • Visits customers, monitors industry trends and competitive activity and disseminates actionable insights back to the business.
  • Builds marketing content to promote our offering in each segment. Content may include blogs, webinars, video, collateral, and website.
  • Lead global NPD projects and supports product launches. 
  • Represent Bostik by participating/presenting in industry groups and associations, technical committees, and trade shows. 
  • Practice Safe work habits in accordance with OSHA, EPA guidelines, and Bostik-specific EHS expectations.

 

Context and environment

This position manages the strategic commercial activity for the NA AP business. He/She works very closely with the global team and the local management team to build and execute marketing plans. This role is critical for identifying and building plans for long term profitable growth. 

 

 

Accountabilities

  • Build and execute annual marketing plans.
  • Responsible for the correct messaging around content.
  • Complete strategic, possibly global market planning projects which will support future growth.   

 

Qualifications / experience required

  • Technical degree with an MBA is preferred.
  • 10+ years experience in R&D, Sales, Tech Service, BD or Marketing. 
  • Experience in FMCG, Packaging or Tape and Label market is preferred.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Strong project Management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with indefinite time lines. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and formal presentation communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in MS Office.
  • Overnight travel on average 25%.
