This position will drive growth and manage the overall product line strategy for the Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) and Engineering Adhesives (EA) product lines in Bostik's Durable Goods business unit.  They will communicate with customers and sales people to promote the product range.  They will collaborate with Market Communications team to build effective product marketing materials. This position reports to the Business Operations Director.

 

Job Dimensions:

  • Manage products through the entire life cycle including new product introduction and product rationalization.
  • Define range of products, identify and analyze strategic opportunities for growth and expansion of the product range
  • Communicate product offerings, positioning, and value propositions both internally and externally
  • Build and share product marketing content to prospective customers
  • Responsible for improving the revenue and profitability of the product lines

 

Activities:

  • Lead strategy definition and implementation for product portfolio consistent with overall market strategy.
  • Identify and analyze opportunities for growth and expansion using market research.
  • Keep up to date on competitive activity and market dynamics
  • Build business cases for new products or applications and support early stage efforts to transfer them to Sales.
  • Accelerate commercialization of our solutions by identifying and documenting compelling customer value propositions, as well as developing strategies to replicate successes across multiple customers.
  • Lead new product and new application launches within specific market segments.  Determine sales forecast of new products and new application activities.
  • Develop communication materials with the Marketing Communication Team, such as positioning, value messages, launch materials, customer presentations, sales enablement tools, customer communications and other marketing events.
  • Responsible for all activities of assigned product lines including local pricing guidance, labeling, packaging and preparing product related literature
  • Manage the local product life cycle and the product review process to rationalize unprofitable products.
  • Build a global network of Bostik professionals in order to leverage product and application knowledge regionally.
  • Represent Bostik by participating in industry and association organizations, committees, trade shows.
  • Team member for key customers and prospect generation management.
  • Complete monthly reporting requirements to communicate business results
  • Practice Safe work habits in accordance with OSHA, EPA guidelines, and Bostik-specific EHS expectations

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related field.  MBA preferred.
  • 7 -10 years of proven Product Management or Marketing experience in a business to business environment. Experience with adhesives used in MRO or EA applications is highly valued.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.  Strong drive.  Self starter.
  • Strong desire to win.  Highly motivated, fast pace execution. 
  • Commercially-oriented with a passion for customers
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and formal presentation communication skills
  • Must be able to make formal presentations to groups of varying audiences
  • Ability to work cross functionally as influence without direct authority.
  • Experience leading projects using Stage Gate methodology
  • Strong business acumen and analysis skills.
  • Excellent organizational, planning and communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain multiple priorities.
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, including international travel (passport required).
