Global Controlling Analyst - GNW Job

The Financial Analyst - Global Business Unit reports to the Business Unit Finance Director and is responsible for business processes. This position works collaboratively across the regions units to support business decision making and various initiatives as identified.

  • Global Nonwovens Business Unit represents nearly 25% of share of global adhesives
  • Hygiene market with turnover of €300M, 15% EBITDA
  • Plants: 8 in 7 countries across regions

 

Activities

 

Assist Global Finance Controller in most operations :

  • Reporting
    • Business Margin – Provide insight on margin trends or isolate variation by region, key account, & product 
    • New Business development – Consolidate  data and prepare analysis for monthly/quarterly management report
    • Fixed costs Analysis – Manage BU/ Corporate requirement to isolate variation by function & region
    • Monthly reporting (RCG ) –  Prepare global slides with analysis commentary
  • Trade Working Capital – Manage BU/ Corporate requirements & isolate variation by component & region, propose corrective actions when working capital exceeds yearly target
  • Investment Projects – Participate in return on investment analysis to support BU strategic decisions (utilize DCF, build model to analyze current vs proposed
  • Budget preparation – Owner of volume,sales, & margin (VPM) consolidation, budget deck consistency, and assist regional controllers with budget deck completion.
  • Process standardization within GBU –
    • Owner of reporting governance / consistency –VPM & reconciliation with P&L, BU customer and product segmentation, fixed cost by nature, region, and manufacturing costs segmentation.
    • Analyze BU processes to Identify gaps and recommend corrective actions to improve consistency
  • Coordinate collection of data (sales, fixed costs ) in order to create Global Databases  - Managing regional inputs to drive consistent global consolidation of BU reporting
  • Carry out worldwide studies on Accounting practices and SAP usage
    • Fixed cost segmentation, margin variance categorization, gross to net sales, shared department allocation keys
  • Supports global functions such as product line marketing and key account managers  on key initiatives like Connected Product line / sourcing model and pricing strategy analysis

 

Context and Environment

  • Occasional travel domestically and internationally as needed – approximately < 10%
  • Manages business process and cross-regional resources within a global organization
  • Interacts with regional and corporate controllers
  • May require working outside of normal business hours to meet deadlines
  • Supports the site EHS policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in EHS activities provided by site management and Bostik, Inc. (e.g., Puresafety, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents
  • Practice safe work habits, in accordance with OSHA and EPA guidelines and Bostik specific EHS requirements

 

Qualifications / Experience Required

 

  • Education: BS or BA in Accounting, Economics, Finance or related degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience preferred in Finance, Accounting, or Audit roles.
  • Experience in supporting a business unit or advanced business analysis preferred. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with senior business managers
  • Solid analytical skills; record of strong continuous learning
  • Ability to communicate essential financial concepts for ease of understanding by all players
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Works, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Working knowledge of SAP, IBM Planning Analytics experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of how to leverage a wide variety of data and related computer tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
  • Ability to lead self and works collaboratively to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing; listens effectively and clarifies information as needed; works well with others in a cross-functional team environment knowing who to engage to achieve results.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to include the ability to multi-task, manage multiple priorities, and effectively manage projects in a diverse organization.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
