Job Summary:

Site EHS leader responsible for communicating compliance activities for applicable local, state, federal and AIMS requirements related to site HSES: Health, safety, environmental, and security.

Supports entire Wauwatosa site including business center, production, R&D, and pilot plant.  This position is geographically located in Bostik’s headquarters Wauwatosa, WI.

Infrequent travel anticipated, less than 5%.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Actively manages EHS programs such as Behavior Based Programs (BBS), training, incident management, incident investigation and corrective actions, waste management & minimization, safe work permits, management of change, process safety, emergency response, etc. (35%)
  • Develops and implements detailed, task level, day to day EHS practices and procedures in accordance with requirements.  Conducts inspections, audits, and assessments. (35%)
  • Participates on and coaches site management teams with regard to EHS challenges/activities (10%)
  • Foster a positive site safety culture through personal example and leadership of site EHS teams (10%)
  • Provides periodic reporting on a wide range of metrics for EHS topics (10%)

 

Minimum Qualifications and Education Required:

Min Years of Experience

2+ years of experience within the EHS function

Education and area of focus

 

Associate’s degree in occupational safety and health or environmental science is preferred

Certifications/Trainings:

OSHA 30-hour Certification

RCRA 8-hour Training & Certification

DOT Hazmat Ground Shipper Certification

 

Competencies -Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs)

  • Prior technical experience with safety and health management processes and program components.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations and relevant federal and state regulations, including OSHA H&S Requirements, DOT, and EPA/WI DNR requirements.
  • Strong mastery of Behavior Based Safety
  • Strong master of Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written), in addition to strong presentation and training facilitation skills.
  • Must be capable of effective conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated & effective skills associated with report writing, database use, web-based tools, spreadsheet creation, presentation software, etc…
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation is a plus.

 

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

  • Must be capable of occasional company required travel
  • Must be capable of standing/walking 8 hours
