Activities
To deliver a zero-accident performance, ensuring HSE requirements are understood and implemented across the site.
To act as the person responsible for HSE for the site
To set a high standard and then coach and inspire the team to deliver through cultural and behavioural change.
To consistently meet delivery targets, working closely with the business stakeholders
To execute the production plans, optimising the resource required
To continually challenge the status quo, identifying and implementing opportunities to improve HSE, cost and service.
To deputise for the site manager when absent from site.
KEY CHALLENGES
There are 12 critically important areas:
To prioritise safety over production – this is a fundamental of how Bostik works.
To ensure safe work habits are applied in accordance with local regulations and Bostik specific HSE procedures
To support the site manager with ensuring the site is compliant regarding legal HSE legislation
To ensure local & corporate policies are in place and trained out as required, especially HSE.
To coach, train and develop team members enabling them to reach their full potential, supporting operational objectives.
To manage industrial safety and occupational health programmes on site.
Responsible for the scheduling and team planning to manufacture products of quality, in compliance with the time and cost constraints in order to meet the operational objectives set by the management.
To measure performance and drive operational efficiency though process improvement and capital investment.
To drive an improved 5S standard
To coordinate production working closely alongside supply chain, purchasing, quality and maintenance departments
To be highly visible on site with a high level of daily interaction with staff and contractors.
To ensure Bostik UK and Corporate reporting requirements are met.
Ensure both shifts are always fully manned in terms of Team Leader always being present.

The mission for all Bostik Operations is to support top line growth by delivering products matching customers’ expectations in terms of Quality & Services level. This has to be achieved in a safe and sustainable way at the lowest cost.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
Degree qualified, ideally engineering related.
A strong leader with a minimum of 5 years manufacturing on a supervisory level or HSE officer/ manager experience .
Excellent understanding of Health & Safety with a passion for promoting a safe working environment
Proven track record of operational excellence, driving out waste and increasing productivity
Exceptional organizational, leadership and communication skills in line with the Bostik way values.
A methodical and proactive mentality to problem solving
Customer focused.
Demonstrated knowledge of safety and environmental local regulations – NEBOSH Certificate ideally but successful candidate with IOSH qualification will be considered with the requirement to take the NEBOSH Certificate within the 1st year of joining the company.
Ability to travel as required.
