Merchant Support Executive reporting to the Regional Sales Manager.

Activities 

Using Salesforce to plan and accurately recording all daily activity. 

Ensure that branches stock the range profile as prescribed by customers H.O. and that the “customer checklist” is completed in every visit. 

Monitor sales trends within stores, utilising customers’ own portals and taking a proactive approach to increase visibility of Bostik brands and working with branch staff in underperforming stores to improve sales. 

Working with branch/regional managers to identify opportunities to grow sales through increasing “ranged” products, gaining additional space and/or regional deals (agreed by Bostik NAM). 

Feedback to NAM/RSM any additional sales opportunities outside the “listed” ranges providing reasons and potential value of the opportunity. 

Relationship development with key personnel at branch and regional level to support the customers’ and Bostik business objectives. 

Create and maintain an effective journey plan to optimise in-call time, ensuring top/strategic accounts are prioritised. 

Provide formal and informal product training to branch staff and, where available, promotion of on-line learning.  

Support branches with product demonstration events to increase product awareness and sales. 

Complete administrative duties in line with deadlines. 

Have an up-to-date Personal Skills Development plan, utilising resources available. 

Support other Bostik departments as directed by Regional Sales Manager. 

Context and environment 

The role operates in a highly competitive, dynamic and innovative environment. The role is home-based, without direct supervision and therefore requires a high degree of personal organisation and self-motivation. The job holder must meet and interact confidently with existing and new customers along with confident interaction with tradespeople. The job holder must always represent the company in a professional capacity and in line with Bostik/Arkema values. Working away from home is al pre-requisite in this position and the frequency will depend on geography and customer commitments. 

 

Accountabilities 

To plan, direct and co-ordinate all field sales activities for a given geographical area and customer base, achieving, or exceeding prescribed sales, margin and KPI targets.  Maintain optimum customer relations on an ongoing basis and identifying and developing new business opportunities within the area. 

 

Qualifications / experience required 


Minimum of GCSE passes in Math and English. Strong business acumen. Good product and market knowledge would be an advantage.  An ability to understand technical standards and requirements. Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills. The job holder must be able to adapt, be flexible, plan and organise their workload in a productive and professional way.  Must be computer literate and have a strong knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel, Word and PowerPoint
