Continuous Improvement Coordinator

SITUATION IN ORGANISATION
Direct report to the UK Head of Quality

  • Working within the Bostik Operations Team, liaising with all Manufacturing and support functions

  • Process risk: Level 1 & 2

  • Headcount under responsibility: 0


CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

 

  • The mission for all Bostik Operations is to support top line growth by delivering products matching customers’ expectations in terms of Quality & Services level. This has to be achieved on a safe and sustainable way at the lowest cost.

  • CI is a fundamental part of this mission by ensuring Bostik continues to manufacture products efficiently and at the right quality, whilst being able to respond to changing internal and external factors.

Required Profile

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Number of CI events

  • Percentage of employees involved in CI projects

  • OEE and other efficiency measures

  • Cost of Non Quality

  • KPIs set as part of DMAIC projects


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Customer focused – Internal and External

  • Knowledge & experience in application of Lean / Six Sigma methodologies – eg DMAIC, OEE, 5S, 7 wastes…

  • Experience of delivering & facilitating CI / improvement activities

  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes & practices

  • Knowledge and experience in application of structured problem-solving tools – eg 8D – 5 Why, Ishakawa, Is / Is Not…

  • Knowledge of QM principles & their application

  • Critical thinking skills, able to analyse information & produce data-based recommendations and actions

  • Ability to establish credibility & build relationships & influence at all levels

  • Ability to lead changes in peoples, processes, systems and drive the CI culture

  • Good written & verbal communication skills, presentation depending on the situation and audience

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with assertiveness

  • Six sigma Green Belt qualification desirable

  • Proficient in MS Office & PowerBI

  • Proficient in Minitab / Qualtrics

  • Working knowledge of SAP

  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety and environmental local regulations
