Mission Details
In this capacity, the main duties are as follows:
· Contact with researchers with a view to identifying the results/achievements that may require protecting
· Patentability studies on the basis of prior rights searches, complemented by the Industrial Property Engineer where applicable
· Compiling, in collaboration with researchers, of a complete invention dossier
· Drafting patent applications and following up patent granting procedures (drafting responses to official correspondence) with the various Patent Offices
· Conducting objection/appeal procedures before the European Patent Office, and following up impeachment actions before the other Patent Offices and litigations before the courts where applicable
· Managing one or more patent portfolios
Additionally, contributing to the company's industrial property positioning in its markets by:
- Analysing patent portfolios of competitors and/or partners
- Evaluating the rights of third parties (patents) during freedom-of-use assessments
- Monitoring, in targeted areas, of third-party patent publications as well as EPO granting procedures for these patents
- Giving opinions on the content of industrial property terms in collaboration agreements
- Taking part in drafting industrial property contracts (transfer, licence, joint ownership)

Required Profile
- Professional representative before EPO
- Scientific and technical training or equivalent in chemistry, complemented if possible by legal knowledge
- At least 6 years' postgraduate experience in drafting patent applications, appeals, review procedures with full autonomy. Experience in negotiating contracts
- Business experience would be a bonus
Given the Arkema Group's international dimension, a command of English is required
