We have a great opportunity available to join our team as the HR partner for our Central Manufacturing teams, working with diverse group of leaders and teams that are key to Arkema’s strategic and operational goals and success.  This role is based in Radnor, PA and reports to the Sr. HR Manager and HR functional lead for Manufacturing and Engineering job families.

Key dimensions/scope/accountabilities of this role, include:

  • Manages all aspects of the human resources function for assigned functions for Central Manufacturing.
  • This includes, but is not limited to:  talent acquisition, employee relations, training and development, performance management succession/workforce planning, compensation and benefits
  • Acts as primary HR contact for leaders in the Central Manufacturing to ensure qualitative, cost effective and timely implementation.
  • Develops and maintains successful, productive relationships with client group and HR team
  • Sets a sound HR strategy for the client groups linked to business needs
  • Ensures qualitative and cost effective workforce management
  • Implements effectively HR initiatives and processes with the client groups (PMP, TR etc.)
  • Develops and maintains HR strategies/procedures/programs linked to the client group strategies
  • Lead and deliver on successful regional initiatives, whether client specific or HR specific
  • Enlist advocacy and support from key Stakeholders by timely and qualitative communications and change management
  • Fosters an environment that encourages  and rewards continuous individual growth and delivery of results
  • Provides support to leadership teams of client groups through advice, coaching, and development
  • Contributes to continuous improvements of HR practices, processes and data management.

This position requires:

  • Someone well-versed in all aspects of human resources including succession planning, talent acquisition and development, compensation and benefits, training and development and employment law.

HR&C community.  Must build and maintain strong working relationships with their peers, functions and sites as well as within the Corporate HR&C function.

ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead HR Business Partner for Client Groups
Act as primary HR partner for the client groups as follows:

  • Establishes personal credibility and builds and maintains strong partnerships at multiple levels.
  • Works as business partner for with functional and site leaders on related initiatives.
  • Provides HR updates to the leadership as required.
  • Provides guidance for talent reviews and organizational planning/evolution within the business.
  • Provides consulting services in the areas of change management, compensation, performance and talent management, talent planning, employee relations, organizational effectiveness and leadership development.
  • Serves as the key contact point and coach for clients on HR issues.
  • Leads and executes HR practices, core processes and initiatives within client group:  Performance Management Process, Talent Review Process, Engagement Survey and follow-up action plans, Rewards and Recognition program, Job (re)evaluations and other compensation-related practices, Talent acquisition, onboarding, development and departure
  • Develops both individual and organizational capacity to achieve business goals
  • Initiates actions or projects for greater cost effective workforce planning and management, succession planning and employee engagement within client groups
  • Ensure awareness and compliance with HR policies within client groups
  • Assess, monitors and addresses employee questions and concerns
  • Provides counsel to leaders on managing employee relations issues, including, but not limited to: corrective action, conflict resolution, harassment issues etc., utilizing Legal resource(s), when appropriate, to investigate and resolve issues in a prompt and fair manner, minimizing legal risk to Arkema and individual leaders. Partners closely with other HR leadership/teams and HR COEs ( Centers of Excellence) for proper process and delivery.
  • Stays current on US regulations for compliance and timely implementation of new/changes to the regulations
  • Work with business leadership and HR Corporate and Legal on other growth and HR organizational activities, such as merger/acquisitions and integrations as required

Drive and implement Core HR Processes within assigned client groups

  • Responsible for personal credibility with the broader HR corporate team, including building and maintaining strong partnerships with HR functional leads and BPOs to align on key employee actions
  • Leads or contributes to special/cross-functional projects, inside and outside of the HR function, on an as needed basis
  • Assists with employee investigations and represents the company at hearings and investigations with Corporate Legal guidance
  • Regularly review reports and analyze statistical data on all aspects of employment activity to identify trends, possible issues and related causes. Develop and recommend solutions and improvements as needed in employment policies, processes and practices
  • Ensures HR team records information and maintains analytics and records on recruiting, interviews, hires, transfers, promotions, terminations and performance reviews

Provide strategic leadership in driving the following key manufacturing programs across national operations in the US and AMAS as appropriate to foster organizational alignment, inclusive culture, and future-ready talent development, including:

  • Diversity & Inclusion initiatives within Manufacturing function, and occasionally beyond.
  • Intern efforts within Manufacturing function, and occasionally beyond.
  • Developing Engineer Program
  • Support and at times lead other efforts, initiatives, and programs within manufacturing functions as determined necessary.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

  • Role is based in Radnor, PA  
  • Travel-regionally and possibly internationally is to be expected (up to 25%), including visits to King of Prussia or other sites, offsite HR meetings, client meetings, etc. 
  • Ability to build collaboration and enlist support/advocacy is critical in this role
  • Leadership skills and project management skills are needed, as well as the ability to function at a strategic level but also implement initiatives successfully.  Organizational/ planning skills are critical for this role.  Composure, ability to build rapport and trust, good judgement and analytical skills are also needed to be effective in the role.  A sense of urgency and a proactive approach to addressing HR issues is expected.
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents

REQUIRED EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS /WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) is required; Master’s degree is a plus
  • HR Certification preferred (PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SCP)
  • 7+ years of experience working as a generalist in the Human resources field, including 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing HR required
  • Project management and leadership experience
  • Experience with analytics/KPIs and Metrics
  • Union experience a plus
  • Experience in talent management and/or training is preferred
  • Experience or exposure in dealing/working with other cultures
  • Track record of success in the implementation of HR solutions
  • Experience with key HR processes and systems is needed; knowledge of SAP and SuccessFactors is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to deal with complexity, ambiguity and matrixed relationship/environment; must be able to identify, build/maintain relationship with and manage key stakeholder to enlist support and advocacy
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to summarize and explain metrics/data
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a diverse team
  • Effective written and verbal communicator, in both one-to-one and group discussions
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure
  • Ability to read legal and financial documents, references in case law investigation, labor contracts, labor laws and rules and federal laws
