Arkema Inc. is actively recruiting for a Plant Engineer to support our Pineville, Louisiana facility.  This position reports directly to the the Site Manager and provides technical guidance to Operations team.  Additionally, this position provides technical support for onsite activities and offsite Services (Odorflex).  The Pineville plant has grown into one of the premier suppliers of natural gas and propane odorants in North America for Arkema.  Pineville, LA site is located approximately 13 miles North East of Alexandria, LA

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

HSEQ:

  • Ensure that all incidents are reported and appropriately investigated and initiate corrective and preventive actions. 
  • Demonstrate commitment to HES matters through high visibility and actions. 
  • Provide and audit necessary data to support HESQ needs (permit application, episodic releases estimates). 
  • Provide guidance for PSM program. 
  • Champion the following key initiatives: Management Of Change, Mechanical Integrity, Safe Work Permits, Contractor Program, Industrial Hygiene, and REED reporting.

 

Production:

  • Establish short and long-term production plans with Site Manager and Marketing team.
  • Participate and occasionally leads the biweekly Operations Planning meetings.  Participates in the monthly Sales and Raw materials planning meetings as well as other corporate meeting as needed.
  • Coordinate order fulfillment and blending processes with planned and unanticipated maintenance activities, in collaboration with Fleet Supervisor
  • Monitor daily production, shipping activities, product quality and direct adjustments to production and shipping plans as appropriate.
  • Ensure continuous evaluation and implementation of opportunities for improvement (OFI)
  • Support business development, such as Odorflex through collaboration with R&D and field testing at customer sites
  • Lead and manage all capital spending and projects for the site.

 

Qualifications/Experience Required:

 

  • BS in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years industry experience
  • Exhibits personnel management and organizational skills, ability to envision, acknowledge and shift priorities to meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills to communicate with hourly workforce, business leaders, customers and company’s technical organization
  • Excellent judgment and problem analysis skills are required as well as tolerance for stress
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot chemical processes
  • Highly motivated team member able to work in or lead a team through a quickly changing pace environment
