Position Title:  Logistics Coordinator

BU or Function: AP&C

Plant Site:  Piedmont

Job Summary

This position exists to receive customer orders; plan and process deliveries; and  resolve customer delivery issues.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities with % Breakdown:

Logistics Duties (75%):

  • Receive and process orders through customer service department.
  • Communicate with bulk carriers regarding scheduling of shipments. (Plant logistics responsible for securing drivers and customer shipments, which includes bulk tank truck shipments, LTL, and FTL)
  • Schedule shipment of packaged product and coordinate with carriers.
  • Work with customer service and plant personnel to investigate and resolve customer delivery  issues
  • Maintain shipping records files including adding shipping records to API product batch records
  • Work with KOP Customer Service and/or plant personnel to investigate and resolve customer delivery issues.
  • Maintain shipping records files including adding shipping records to API product batch records. (EDMS)
  • Ensure shipment issues are communicated to Arkema’s Customer Service department in a timely manner. 
  • Receive calls/emails from KOP Customer Service regarding new orders and changes. 

 

Clerk Duties (25%):

  • Generate daily shipment paperwork from SAP.
  • Make daily inventory transactions in SAP.
  • Schedule loading of tank wagons, prepare load sheets..
  • Track Quality Delivery Incidents
  • Maintain office equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with packaged goods when necessary.
  • Assist in the filing of all shipping, receiving, and process batch sheets.
  • Provides back up support for Distribution Manager
  • Prepares plant records for storage/shipment to Iron Mountain
  • Assist with front gate/visitor activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications and Education Required

  • 5+ years of experience in a shipping/receiving environment preferably in a chemical plant environment

 

Education and area of focus

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Chemical plant experience preferred.
  • Shipping/Receiving experience preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills (Outlook, Word, SAP and Excel).
  • This position will require 49CFR certification and IMDG certification.
  • Understanding of DOT and other required transportation regulations.

 

Certifications/Trainings

 

  • Qualified in Piedmont operations equipment.
  • Certifications from trade schools and/or professional organizations are preferred.
  • Classes will be attended as needed for current shipping regulation training.

HES Requirement – All Jobs

  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Based Safety, SafeStart, etc.).
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents.
  • Demonstrates commitment to HES through high visibility and actions.

 

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

  • Must be able to walk, sit, stand for long periods
  • A fast paced, high pressure environment where you are involved in a wide variety of functions and activities.
  • Must be capable and willing to work overtime as required 
  • Must be able to use and navigate business applications including CMMS maintenance management software and be proficient with MS Office suite.
  • This position works in an office/warehouse environment. .
