Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance Supervisor manages the day-to-day activities of the Quality Assurance Laboratory and Quality Assurance Technicians in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  Directs all Quality Assurance (QA) activities related to inspection and verification to ensure compliance to quality standards.  Responsible for inspection and approval of all incoming materials, in-process samples, and approval of finished products.  Plans and directs the work activities, as well as performs normal supervisory functions, of the Quality Assurance Technicians.  Assists in the development and modification of Quality Assurance procedures.  Suggests changes to standards, test equipment, and methods to facilitate work and maintain quality.  Routinely interacts with Production and Quality Management to determine and resolve quality related problems.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the QA Technicians at the Mulberry location
  • Supports the Quality Manager with QA related strategies for North American Regional facilities
  • Collaborates with internal/external stakeholders to implement and maintain programs/procedures to ensure products meet customer requirements
  • Responsible for maintaining QA related information in the ERP/CRM Database
  • Create, revise, approve, and control the quality-related documents/resources including but not limited to test methods, product formulations, QA specifications, and Certificate of Analysis (COA)
  • Compiles, logs, reports, and heads improvement initiatives on nonconforming batches
  • Assist with quality investigations by means of the ACAR process; ArrMaz Corrective Action Requests
  • Supervises the review of manufacturing and quality control data for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to comply with established standards
  • Responsible for calibrations and maintenance on QA and plant analytical instrumentation
  • Familiarity with running all specified tests according to defined test methods to ensure that produced material meets the required specifications before final disposition
  • Procurement of QA and plant analytical supplies and consumables
  • Assists with validation of new raw materials and finished products
  • First contact for off-hour plant Quality Assurance issues and back-up support for the Quality Manager
  • Special projects as designated by the Quality Manager


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a scientific discipline; Chemistry preferred or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 3 years of experience in laboratory setting
