Position Summary:

Reporting to the Business Director, the Market Manager is responsible for leading the marketing efforts of our Infrastructure business using research and planning to help find new product opportunities, identify new markets, gain market share, drive strategies and initiatives, and promote the Arkema brand. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the asphalt industry and related chemical market, particularly as it pertains to the paving and roofing market segments. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Based on meticulous market research, supplies the organization with relevant, reliable, actionable, and synthesized information that leads to informed decisions:
    • market sizes and segmentation, industry trends, market dynamics, key developments
    • Competitors’ share and landscape, prospects, and customers
    • Potential new markets and product applications
    • Agency shifts in specifications and technology mindset
  • Develops strategic plans to grow business and achieve financial goals while sustaining our mission of offering customers the most innovative and sustainable solutions to meet needs
  • Key contributor to Business Development processes including idea generation, financial modeling, business planning and marketing initiatives
  • Develops comprehensive marketing campaigns to support successful launch and commercialization of new products
  • Develops and implements marketing communication strategies that promote the Arkema brand and mission
  • Manages and contributes to content creation of marketing materials
  • Monitors products for market share and growth potential
  • Makes recommendations on discontinuing products that do not meet business expectations
  • Conducts product and market training for Sales team to enhance knowledge and skills
  • Participates in regional and national industry association committees and events to build company credibility and support strategic growth goals
  • Develops effective and comprehensive sales support materials for Sales team
  • 10-25% travel with overnight stays, predominately in North America and less to South America

 

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • A minimum of ten years’ experience in marketing in a business-business sales environment
  • Sales experience is preferred
  • Experience commercializing new products and penetrating new markets
  • Experience working effectively with peers cross functionally to grow business
  • Prior specialty materials or construction industry experience is preferred
  • A four-year degree required, preferably in Marketing, Business, Chemistry or Engineering.
