Manager - Quality Assurance Job

General purpose: Reporting to the Director of North American Operations, the QA Manager provides the strategic direction for the quality function.  Establishes, monitors, and maintains quality control systems.  Determines types of tests to be performed as well as documentation and reporting requirements for the US operation and supports same for non-US locations.  This position will drive key quality decisions while working with Sales, Product Development, R & D, Operations, and Senior Management.  

DUTIES:

• Management of the Quality Assurance department
• Maintain and develop quality control methods
• Set quality policy and processes
• Processes for tracking and reporting product quality statistics
• Coordinate process improvement efforts
• Coordinate troubleshooting efforts
• Develop procedures and document controls
• Interact with customers and vendors
• Oversees the new product introduction process

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively and influence many levels of an organization. 
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products – intermediate to advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, Access and Power Point
• ERP software skills is required.
• Interpersonal team building skills
• Thorough understanding of quality concepts strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015
• Strong analytical skills. 
• Project management skills a plus.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, international and domestic 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• B.S. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
• Five to 10 years laboratory experience with progressive responsibilities
• A minimum of two years in a leadership role. 
• Experience with equipment and/or analytical procedures
• A minimum of ten years of combined strategic and tactical experience in a high-volume chemical manufacturing environment.
