As an industrial electrician, you will work safely, in accordance with relevant codes and standards to ensure manufacturing equipment is operating reliably. Work hours: 7:00am – 5:30pm, 4 days per week, rotating. One week – Monday – Thursday and the next week Tuesday – Friday. On-call on a rotating basis about 4-6 weeks from Tuesday morning to the following Tuesday morning.
 

Activities


Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, calibrates and tests electrical apparatus, components, equipment and machinery.
Makes periodic preventative maintenance inspections of all metering control instruments, diagnosing existing or potential trouble; cleans, lubricates, calibrates and adjusts as conditions indicate.
Reads and interprets wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings and specifications in making installations or performing major repair work.
Cooperates with and assists other team members; follow directions; completes work timely and in a professional manor.
Maintain compliance with current codes.
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
Other duties, as assigned.
 

Context and environment


Working environment is in a chemical facility. Must be comfortable with outdoor working conditions, routinely exposed to the elements. Frequent walking in a large production facility.
Must be able to safely perform all the duties of the job.
Must be able to pass a post-offer/pre-placement drug screen, background check, job-related physical abilities and pulmonary function test. (Must also follow facial hair guidelines.)
 

Qualifications/Experience required

High School Diploma or GED equivalent, required. (Will consider 10+ years of experience, in lieu.)
Vocational training or education, preferred. Journeyman’s license is a plus.
3+ years general industrial electrical and motor control experience, required. (Will consider 5+ years of commercial electrical experience, in lieu.)
