This Position Reports to the Plant Manager and has Matrix responsibility to the US Regional Quality Leader

 

Job dimensions

•            Collaborate with all functions to insure adherence to quality work processes:

o            QC sample preparation to QC testing to data integrity in ERP

o            Maintaining ISO / AS9100 compliance at a facility

o            NCMR /CEI process (non-conforming product and customer complaints/concerns)

o            Customer Audits

o            Customer / Industry specific requirements (TS, GMP, QAKE, Etc....)

•            Work with other quality managers and corporate quality to drive improvement and standardization on all processes mentioned above. 

•            Support Operational excellence programs, direct CI specialist activities and manage site project management process

•            Responsible for all aspects of quality at a facility

 

Activities:

EH&S Leadership

•            Lead a safety culture by example and engagement with the quality and operations staff.

•            Ensure safety requirements are understood and adhered to in the lab

 

ISO 9001 / AS9100

•            Manage the plant Quality Management System and ensure compliance with quality standards.

•            Serve as site representative for internal, external and customer audits.  Lead and coach the plant team in successful audit execution.

•            Participate as a member of the Bostik, Inc. Internal Audit Team

 

QC Lab

•            Manage QC Lab & Quality Associates

•            Ensure equipment is calibrated on time and records properly documented.  Develop and maintain strategy for QC equipment reliability and testing capabilities.

•            Manage Non-Conforming material process and support inventory control, including slow moving and expired material maintenance

 

Customers/Suppliers

•            Serve as Customer Quality contact for audits, CI initiatives, etc.

•            Drive for excellence in Corrective Action/Preventative Action (CAPA) responses.

•            Support customer requests as needed from a QA perspective (ie Certificate of Analysis (C of A) issues, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Requests, Customer Complaint resolution (CEI), etc.)

•            Own Processes for Customer specific needs (AS9100, QAKE, GMP, PPAP, PFMEA, PCD etc.)

•            Coordinate with site buyer to resolve incoming raw material concerns and ensure satisfactory resolution

 

Process / Continuous Improvement

•            Serve on the Plant Leadership Team as the plant’s overall quality leader / Lean Leader.

•            Identify, monitor, and drive improvement in KPI’s associated with customer quality

•            Help lead, develop, and sustain a Continuous Improvement (CI) Environment including management of the Project Management process.

•            Foster and mentor use of various RCA at all levels of the site

•            The environment is supportive of rapid quality improvements that can be felt at the customer and at the business level.

•            The quality manager will need to be collaborative in order to drive improvement

•            The quality manager will need to offer new solutions to customers changing expectations

•            Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities and customer demands is critical for success.

 

Accountabilities

•            Lead Non-Quality Index improvement efforts and own NQI improvement plan.

•            Effective Communication and Management of Processes (NCMR, CEI, Inventory control, and supplier quality)

•            Effective Management of Site ISO process and customer specific expectation.  Measured through Audits.

•            Accurate and On time testing to Release Dates.

•            Improvement of KPI’s (NCMR reduction, CEI reduction, Time to Close NCMR / CEI, reduction of repeat issues on site) through championing effective problem solving and coaching the Continuous Improvement Team process.

 

Qualifications / experience required

•            Formal education in engineering, chemistry, biology, or related field (Bachelor’s Degree preferred). 3-5 or more years of experience in a Quality leadership role in a manufacturing environment

•            Solid knowledge of statistic / Six sigma (Control Charting, SPC, Cpk, Cp, St, Dev, etc.); Green Belt or Black Belt certified preferred.

•            Knowledge and understanding of ISO9001 + requirements, AS9100 and IATF 16949 preferred

•            Demonstrate strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

•            Computer skills in Minitab, Query, Microsoft Office- SAP experience preferred

•            Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Good organizational Skill
