JOB TITLE:   Project & Facilities Engineer



Reports to the Middleton Engineering & Reliability Manager 



  • Execute Small Capital ( < $150K ) projects for the Middleton site - process and facility improvements
  • Scope, design, construct and install capital projects safely and according to all applicable codes and regulations
  • Develop and implement a long-term Facilities (Buildings & Grounds) Improvement Plan
  • Manage and report capital project spending budget to forecast



  • Drive rapid implementation of small capital and expense projects
  • Work with plant teams to support initiatives and scope projects
  • Provide regular communications on status of projects
  • Provide cost estimates for capital project planning process
  • Coordinate with the plant maintenance team on best-practices
  • Provide cost justification analysis and definition for Authorization of Expenditures
  • Evaluate and select equipment vendors and contractors
  • Follow Middleton’s Mechanical Integrity program by ensuring inspections are performed within the required time.
  • Plan for, schedule, and manage contractor activities on site.
  • Respond to unplanned equipment downtime on an emergency basis; coordinate equipment repair and/or replacement
  • Provide assistance to departments in throughput enhancements and efficiency improvements
  • Occasional trouble-shooting support for production issues
  • Practice safe work habits in accordance with OSHA, EPA and Bostik EHS guidelines and expectations



  • Fast-paced environment
  • You will participate in activities within the plant and occasionally outside the plant.
  • Heavy use of computer software, both PC based and enterprise system, combined with frequent interpersonal communication.



  • Continuous improvement of process equipment and facility preservation
  • Work with all functions of the plant and outside the plant to achieve results.



  • BS Mechanical Engineering or 10 years managing and implementing capital projects in a heavy industrial environment. Chemical/process industry experience preferred.
  • 1 – 3 years in manufacturing/process industry
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience working in an MOC (Management of Change) and/or PSM (Process Safety Management) environment a plus
  • Sound financial judgment, organized, initiative, and flexiblility all highly desired
  • Experience leading small project teams
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication
  • Strong computer skills, MS Excel
  • Less than 5% travel
