Job Title: Production Operator

Situation in organization

This position reports to the Production Supervisor. This position has no reports.

 

Job dimensions

This position is responsible for the operation of the system to manufacture Hydrogen Peroxide.

Key Activities and responsibilities

Operations (70%)

  • Operate process equipment and monitor process indicators
  • Conduct environmental inspections and emergency response inspections
  • Perform checks on equipment and adjust as necessary to maintain quality and quantity of product
  • Demonstrate commitment to all loss control matters through high visibility and actions

 

Other tasks (30%)

  • Follow documented procedures and complete required paperwork correctly and timely
  • Read company communications weekly, i.e. production advisories, emails, etc.
  • Complete scheduled periodic training on time and as required
  • Proficiently use Arkema data entry systems (DCS, Historical Data, Maintenance programs, email, etc.)
  • Communicate pertinent information to co-workers, maintenance, and management
  • Maintain good housekeeping of work areas
  • Other duties as assigned

 

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

  • Will require working at elevated heights, climbing stairs, working outdoors, hot and cold environments, etc.
  • Ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc(e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents
  • Ensure all incidents are reported and appropriately investigated and corrective actions implemented
  • Ensure department members follow required HESQ training

 

Required Education/Qualifications /Work experience

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Minimum two years of experience in manufacturing, chemical plan experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft outlook, etc.)
  • Able to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays included
  • Able to work overtime

  • Must be able to multi-task and efficiently operate in a stressful work environment
  • Must have good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • High level of detail and accuracy required
  • Demonstrate strong work ethic by managing time and completing tasks
  • Ability to function in a team environment or as individual
  • Maintain good attitude and good attendance
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities
