IT Senior Analyst - Supply Chain Applications - SAP - Home office Job

  • As a Senior Functional/Technical Analyst, this position is responsible for supporting and enhancing Supply Chain applications, both SAP and integrated non-SAP applications. Enhancements include business-driven and technical modifications, interfaces. Primary support responsibility SAP LE and WM support, including integration with other SAP modules and a cloud based Transportation Management System
  • SAP Supply Chain applications deliver Arkema supply chain processes including Quote to Cash, Demand Planning and Scheduling, Production and Logistics. SAP Supply Chain integrates with transportation, e-business and other third party tools to deliver end to end processes. Position collaborates Business Process Owners and IT groups, both with global and regional. 
  • Position will apply functional/ technical expertise in the area of SAP Supply Chain and integrated systems that can impact over 2000 users.

 

  

Key Activities and responsibilities

 

70 % - Application Enhancements

  • Position performs small to medium business modifications, enhancements, for system developments. Participates in implementation roll-outs and enhancement projects. 
  • System developments includes defining requirements for system modification via user interviews, research, writing specifications to meet requirements by matching functionality with business needs, technical design, configuration, testing and documentation. Collaborates with process owners on process design. May develop training and train end users.
  • Position works with other IS&T technical teams for activities such as identification and selection of technical alternatives, security design and external data processes. Works with third party vendors. 
  • Applies project management methodology with support of manager or project lead.
  • Works independently on some assignments and under direction or mentorship on larger, more complex assignments. 
  • Works directly with users to define needs for system enhancements, and with a project lead or manager for enhancements with significant business requirements and/or integrated business process definition and designs.
  • Ensures modifications properly fix issues and meet user expectations via thorough requirements gathering, system testing, user acceptance testing and appropriate regression testing.
  • Participates or lead detail requirements gathering, analysis of systems issues and definition of alternatives.
  • Requires expert assistance of others in process design, analysis of alternatives and risk assessment.
  • Evaluates technologies and functionalities.  
  • Works with other IS&T technical teams for activities such as identification and selection of technical alternatives, security design and external data processes. Works with third party vendors. 
  • Uses vendor documentation, Arkema documentation, vendor help services, and internal and external resources to learn and understand system capabilities. 
  • Ensures the application integrity of system with each system modification. 

 

30% - Application Support & Maintenance

  • Performs second level support activities, including ongoing business modifications, routine maintenance, root cause analysis, and fixing bugs. Resolves complex issues independently, and proactively initiates problem prevention. Consults with others engaged in complex issue resolution. 
  • Provides proactive and timely problem resolution and communication
  • Performs problem analysis, independent research, programming specs, configuration, testing and documentation. 
  • Manages maintenance assignments including updating, enhancing, and/or streamlining of technical functions of the system, including data or system cleanup, or standardizing processes.

 

Context and environment

  •  Travel dependent on project, enhancement or support activities; typically less than 10%. May require international travel.
  • Periodically will be responsible for project, enhancement or support activities outside of normal working hours.
  • Follows and enforces internal IT policies and standards such as: user support process, promote-to-production process, development and testing practices, security policies, documentation standards and communication practices.
  • Follows internal IT project management methodologies and uses selected tools.
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc(e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents

 

Required Education/Qualifications /Work experience

  •  Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience – including 4+ years SAP Supply Chain experience and technical aspects of supporting business systems/applications and interfaces to non-SAP systems.
  • Previous experience includes supporting SAP LE (Logistics Execution) and SAP WM (Warehouse Management) and integration with other SAP modules/functions (MM, IM, WM, PP, SD, FICO, ATP, Master Data). 
  • Solid experience in SAP debugging, including working knowledge of ABAP, and writing technical specs.
  • Proficiency with other SAP modules/functions (MM, IM, PP, SD, FICO, ATP, Master Data). 
  • Knowledge and/or experience with various SAP tools to deliver functionality and integration including: IMG/Configuration, ABAP, SmartForms, RFC, ALE, IDOC, ALV, etc. as well as PC office tools and application reporting and customization tools.
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
