Purchasing Assistant - Raw Materials Job

The Raw Materials and Energy Purchasing team has an opening for a Purchasing Assistant. This position assists in the coordination of day to day procurement activities for a major team, ensuring the efficient, accurate, and compliant acquisition of materials within the policies and guidelines established by management. Reconciles high value/volume invoices while insuring price accuracy and supplier compliance to support the portfolios of the procurement team.

 

This position reports to the Manager of Processes and Systems, Raw Materials Procurement, and is based out of the N.A. Corporate Headquarters in King of Prussia, PA.

 

 

KEY ACTIVITIES:

 

 

SAP Contracts - Manage contracts in Contract Management System.

  • Assist in the creation of new contracts in SAP
  • Assist with price updates for raw materials and packaging

Accounting

  • Assist in the invoice exception process.
  • Work directly with suppliers to review/resolve invoice discrepancies for a portfolio of total spend of $1B.
  • Ensure all credit notes and rebates are secured and posted.

Processes

  • Assist in the development and implementation of purchasing systems and procedures.
  • Aid in the management of the conflict mineral process by obtaining the required documentation from suppliers.
  • Serve as the central contact for the Supplier Complaint process.
  • Provide assistance in the execution of the Supplier Qualification process.
  • Facilitate new/changes to supplier data thru the Master Data Platform.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • High School Diploma or AS degree strongly preferred
  • 5+ years professional office experience
  • Some experience working in Supply Chain or Purchasing position preferred
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents

 

 

NECESSARY COMPETENCIES:

 

  • Must be able to work within a team, supporting multiple individuals with different roles and management styles
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize needs of multiple individuals to ensure all needs are met
  • Strong knowledge of business systems (Microsoft and SAP) is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence without formal authority
  • Must be detailed oriented and possess the ability to analyze data
