The Buyer reports to the Regional Purchasing Manager, Bostik, and does not have any direct reports. 


Key Activities & Responsibilities


Manage Purchase to Pay Process (60%)

  • Process purchase requisitions for the eleven (11) assigned sites in accordance with established Purchasing Policies, Procedures, and Arkema policies and procedures.
  • Examine and analyze purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy of information; contact Requisitioner to clarify or complete information, determine method to process requisition based on strategy and timeliness required.  Ensure that categorization is correct, preferred vendors are used and the pricing is accurate.
  • Update and communicate delivery dates on Purchase Orders as a result of changes to the order acknowledgement, and communicate with the Requisitioner, planner or the indirect material sourcing manager.
  • Manage supplier complaints by working with the supplier and BU/Plants to determine root cause through resolution, and track the complaint through close.  Continue to monitor to ensure issues are resolved.
  • Participate in the vendor performance evaluation process.


Supports Regional and Strategic Sourcing Managers (25%)

  • Understand the GASP procurement strategy and support Regional and Strategic Managers in their efforts to achieve their objectives (strategy implementation, etc.)
  • Utilize knowledge of key suppliers and the market to optimize the source of supply and identify savings opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with Regional and Strategic Managers to identify and execute savings initiatives at the plant level.


Communication & Coordination of Portfolio Learning (15%)

  • Learn to develop and send requests for quotes, evaluate bids and make awards as directed by Regional or Strategic Sourcing Managers.
  • Responsible for execution for day-to-day indirect purchasing execution.
  • Communicates effectively with business units, functions and plants.


Context & Environment

  • This position will work closely with Regional Managers, Strategic Managers, purchase requisitioners and Accounts Payable.
  • Some travel could be required (up to 20%)
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management.(e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents


Required Education/Qualification/Work Experience

  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field (preferred) or relevant experience
  • Previous Procurement/Sourcing/Supply Chain experience (2+ years) 
  • Proficient in computer applications including SAP, MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Experience with Jaggaer and/or concentric E-sourcing tools is a plus.
