SITUATION IN ORGANIZATION:

Reports to the Maintenance Manager.

JOB DIMENSIONS:

Repair and troubleshooting of equipment as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.  Manage work orders through SAP by reserving warehouse materials for discovery work, charging time to work order operations, and create notifications for problems found during plant evaluations and task execution from existing work orders.  Work with Engineering/SME (Subject Matter Expert) on resolving issues with discovery work in the field, which is subject to; field walks with contractors, researching parts/tools needed for completing tasks.  Navigate via SharePoint to update equipment records and research existing equipment files/data.  Responsible for ensuring that all AIMS HESQ policies & practices (ISO-9001, ISO-14001, ISO-45001 & RCMS) are followed by all operations personnel.  This includes compliance with OSHA 1910, environmental regulations and permits, quality systems, and safe work permit practices.

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintenance Tasks 50%

  • Performs assignments and task, along with providing job status updates through the Maintenance Manager.
  • Performs necessary repairs and PM’s of equipment including; tolerances, run outs utilizing precision tools, maintenance/calibration of precision tools, report/document equipment findings/conditions & corrective actions, troubleshoot equipment problems and communicate to Reliability Engineer on findings & repair recommendations.  PM documentation to maintain regulatory standards.
  • Works with flanged, and threaded, piping connections.  Along with installing and modifying stainless steel tubing/fittings.
  • Ensures housekeeping is kept high priority at all times.
  • Assist other crafts when directed on an as need basis.
  • Performs minimal structural fabrication and welding.

Technical/Systems Management Tasks 25%

  • Maintain a general knowledge of piping specifications for the Houston Plant.
  • Maintain and track materials specific to craft for the Houston plant.
  • Utilize SAP to charge time, and create notifications.
  • Utilize IT tools to research and mitigate old practices in the field to maximize efficiency and improve reliability.
  • Participate in equipment failure investigation as a mechanical resource.  Utilize plant document control/management tools to perform job duties (Impact, SharePoint, SAP etc.).

Planning Tasks 25%

  • Assist the maintenance planner with craft specific scope, and materials for planned maintenance jobs.
  • Work with Engineering/SME (Subject Matter Expert) on resolution to issues on discovery work in the field, which is subject to; field walks with contractors, researching parts/tools needed for completing tasks.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works with salary, non-salary, and other hourly workers to safely repair equipment used in the manufacture of heavy mercaptans and sulfides
  • Works with contractors and company personnel on routine and non-routine projects
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health and safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents

REQUIRED EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Passing of a pre-employment physical.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a millwright, welder, pipe fitter and/or related minor craft functions.
  • Previous experience or training in the Petrochemical Industry performing similar work.
  • Good communication skills.

Desirable (before hiring):

  • Passing of pre-employment test administered by the Texas Employment Commission.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a millwright, welder, pipe fitter and/or related minor craft functions.
