The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all hourly mechanics at the Arkema Houston site. As a first line supervisor, they will interface with all levels and departments of the Houston team. The Maintenance Supervisor will take ownership of and engage in various elements of daily work execution in alignment with company best practice initiatives. The individual is responsible for ensuring that all AIMS and HESQ policies & practices (ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 and OSHA 1910) are followed. The individual will develop and provide guidance to their direct reports in alignment with Arkema administrative policies and procedures. 

Responsibilities

             Safety: 10%

  • Adhere and following safe work practices of the Houston site including permitting, waste disposal, decontamination of equipment, PPE processes and expectations.
  • Ensure Maintenance team is compliant with required computer based training, Behavioral based observations (CHAT’s), & Loss control initiatives.
  • Manage housekeeping efforts amongst the Maintenance team supporting plant general inspections.
  • Engage with Atlas initial reporting of near miss events.
  • Support site SWAT safety initiative by conducting field audits ensuring compliance.              

             Work Execution: 45%

  • Maintain alignment with activity coordinator around plant priorities. 
  • Manage schedules and maintain time keeping of hourly employees for payroll.
  • Continuous utilization of strategic thinking to understand priorities of tasks.
  • As needed assist with maintenance activities and tasks preventing scheduling pitfalls and improving reliability and schedule compliance. 
  • Manage workflows/procedures related to maintenance activities within regulation and corporate compliance. Includes but not limited to MOE, AIMS & PSM.
  • Provide as a competent resource for various tools supporting the maintenance group. To include SharePoint, Atlas, “W” Drive, MyCareer, My Learning, SAP
  • Reconcile SAP and notifications after work order steps are complete.
  • Manage and be engaged in SMART initiatives for the Maintenance group.
  • Provide leadership and coordination during TAR execution.
  • Direct other duties outside of schedule as needed and resources allow.

       Documentation/Administration: 45%

  • Manage and facilitate team meetings, work distribution, and administrative work schedules.
  • Influence and develop team adherences to policies and procedures.
  • Manage performance of hourly directs through verbal and documented coaching, corrective discipline and evaluations.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of work orders, equipment manuals, drawings, regulatory, and corporate documents to create and manage site specific maintenance workflows & procedures.
  • Create and submit repair reports and documentation to meet corporate standards.
  • Comply with record retention policy around PM documentation.
  • Assist with collecting equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.
  • Oversee equipment record updates via SharePoint/Equipment library.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Incident Investigations.

Requirements

  • 10 years of industrial maintenance experience. Petrochemical or refinery experience preferred
  • High School Diploma, Tech Ed certification preferred. 
  • Strong leadership skills - providing constructive feedback, direction and encouraging teamwork
  • General knowledge of computer applications
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
