Job Summary (include Context and Environment)

 

Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and preventive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities with % Breakdown:

 

 

Equipment Maintenance & Repair (40%)

  • Maintain and repair pumps, agitators, gearboxes, piping systems, valves, mechanical seals, and rotating equipment.
  • Perform precision alignment, bearing replacement, lubrication, and equipment overhauls.
  • Execute planned and emergency repairs to restore equipment reliability and production capability.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, forklifts, aerial lifts, and specialized maintenance equipment safely and effectively.

 

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance (25%)

  • Perform preventive maintenance activities in accordance with site maintenance strategies and procedures.
  • Inspect equipment and identify developing failure modes before breakdowns occur.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment history within the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Support predictive maintenance activities such as vibration monitoring, lubrication programs, and condition-based inspections.

 

Troubleshooting & Reliability Improvement (15%)

  • Diagnose mechanical equipment failures and determine corrective actions.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical recommendations to improve equipment reliability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts focused on reducing downtime and maintenance costs.

 

Planning, Documentation & Inventory Management (10%)

  • Assist in maintenance planning and work package development.
  • Review and provide feedback on maintenance procedures and job plans.
  • Support spare parts identification, inventory management, and procurement activities.
  • Utilize computer systems to create work requests, document completed work, and initiate purchase requisitions.

 

Safety, Compliance & Team Participation (10%)

  • Perform all work in compliance with HES requirements, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in safety meetings, audits, inspections, and improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor and support less experienced maintenance personnel.
  • Serve on site teams and committees as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications and Education Required

Min Years of Experience

5+ years of manufacturing experience; strong mechanical and industrial skills. Rotating equipment experience is preferred.

Education and area of focus

 

Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.

Certifications/Trainings:

Preferred Qualifications

  • Craft apprenticeship completion.
  • Chemical manufacturing experience.
  • Reliability or predictive maintenance experience.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Precision alignment and vibration analysis training.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

 

  • Work is conducted in a manufacturing environment requiring PPEs
  • Maintenance work will occasionally require confined space entries, working at elevated heights, using respirators, working outdoors in extreme temperatures etc., Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times. Must be able to work from ladders, scaffolding or powered lifts when required at times.
