The Plant Manager (PM) reports to the Consumer & Construction Manufacturing Director and has direct responsibility for managing the plant leadership team level that includes Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HES).  Accountable for a plant size of 75 employees.   The plant is a fully automated sealant manufacturing facility.  In addition, this role is responsible to establish and maintain working relationships with support networks from both Arkema, Inc. as well as Bostik Consumer & Construction.

 

Fast paced, high pressure environment where you are involved in a wide variety of functions and activities.  Travel could be as high as monthly – less than 20%.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

Operation & Financial Management

  • Lead adherence to the Quality Management System and improvement in the Quality Index
  • In coordination with R&D, support new product introduction stage gate process and continuously improve existing products
  • Develop programs, policies and procedures to continuously improve and quality and productivity of the plant while meeting trade working capital targets
  • Work closely with Customer Service, Marketing and Sales to achieve the best on-time delivery results while meeting the financial and inventory goals of the plant
  • Achieve the manufacturing expense budget while optimizing operations to attain cost saving measures within the plant expenses
  • Assist in the creation of the organization’s vision and growth strategies and execute the business and operations plans at the plant to achieve revenue, profit, and performance targets
  • Develops long term and short-term capital plans and update on a regular basis
  • Communicates plant needs, roadblocks, successes to plant to the business and executive teams

 

Safety & Environment

 

  • Develop, institute and carry through an ever-improving HES Program to achieve the goal of no safety or environmental incidents while complying with PSM requirements
  • Practice safe work habits in accordance with OSHA, EPA guidelines, and Bostik specific HES expectations
  • Demonstrates commitment to HES matters through maintaining high visibility in the plant and direct involvement with employees ensuring compliance with plant policies and procedures
  • Supports and promotes SMART initiative

 

Teamwork and Leadership

  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement where all associates are involved in the improvement process and there is constant interaction with plant leadership and associates on the floor
  • Prioritize plant issues and activities
  • Drive culture of root cause analysis

 

Minimum Qualifications and Education Required

  • 7-10 years of experience in Supervision and Management of Manufacturing Operations and/or Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Project Management, Process Engineering and Regulatory
  • BS or MS in Engineering or related discipline

 

Competencies -Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience in a PSM facility is desired but not required
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead in a team environment
  • Adaptable to change and can lead change
  • Experience with Lean/6 Sigma Manufacturing
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
