GLOBAL BUSINESS DIRECTOR – 3D PRINTING

Location: Exton, PA

 

We are seeking a Global Business Director to join and lead our growing 3D printing business. This position leads the Sartomer 3D business and organization globally, reporting to the Vice President, Coating Additives, and matrix to Sartomer Americas Regional Group President. This role is also a member of the Coating Additives GLT.

 

ORGANIZATION SITUATION

This role leads the Sartomer 3D business and organization globally, with a mix of direct and matrix reports (depending on Function and Region) across USA, EMEA and APAC.

This position is also responsible for active 3D collaboration with High Performance Polymers, Corporate R&D, Corporate Strategy (Investments and M&A), and Bostik. It also interacts heavily with various Group functions and teams outside the BU: Group Strategy, Regulatory Affairs, MDRC, Corporate R&D, other businesses.

 

JOB DIMENSIONS/SUMMARY

This position provides leadership and management of the 3D Printing global UG and is responsible to grow the 3D business and deliver sales through innovations in technology and expansion of Arkema’s capabilities to capitalize on the emerging 3D printing market. Oversight will encompass all regions for 3DP UG and includes leadership on business strategy, development and delivery of sales and marketing, supply, operational plans. The position plays a key role in the management and strategic direction of the business, participating on the 3D Printing Platform management team.

 

The leader in this role will be responsible for the global P&L of the 3D Printing UG.  The 3D business operates from 4 different production sites and 5 R&D centres worldwide (including the Exton Centre of Excellence).

 

3D printing is a strategic investment market within Arkema across multiple businesses – Sartomer, High Performance Polymers and corporate teams' involvement to drive rapid growth (the target for the Group is to double its sales in this market by 2024/2025).

 

The individual will serve as a key 3D global platform representative for UV curable resins, working closely with key stakeholders to build a unified global business strategy towards establishing Arkema’s leadership position in 3D Printing Materials market. Individual will lead and participate in large, global cross-functional teams on establishing new manufacturing capabilities, and implement capital projects to build new business and achieve sustainable growth.

 

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

UG Global and regional Leadership:

  • Global P&L ownership (also at regional level for US)
  • Report monthly results to Coating Additives VP, FP&A, including key events contributing to P&L evolutions
  • Drive monthly forecast, budget, and long term plan processes globally and regionally
  • Ensure internal communication (across multiple regions & functions)
  • Lead transformational Projects (joint development/investments / M&A)
  • Partner with Global Coating Additives BU Leader, RGP’s and Global Manufacturing Director to oversee strategy and execution on capital investment to build new capacity for 3D production and packaging globally.
  • Participate as part of Coating Additives GLT
     

3D Global Strategy & business leadership:

  • Develop and implement vision and strategy to develop the organization, drive business growth and meet targeted financial objectives. Actively seek organic and inorganic growth options to position the business for fast-paced evolution and sustained success. Drive implementation of NBD and NPD
  • Define and implement long-range plans for continued growth of 3D Printing business. Partner with key stakeholders to support Arkema 3D printing aspirations.
  • Lead strategy for strategic investments and acquisitions in 3D Printing sector to maintain Arkema’s leadership position
  • Actively promote and participate in safety programs to ensure a safe work environment, organizational culture towards compliance.
  • Steer the UG long-term strategy and market teams development roadmaps.
  • Active promoter of the Arkema strategy internally and externally
  • Drive R&D portfolio management to align with business strategy
  • Maintain in-depth understanding market intel & trends and facilitate their sharing internally
  • Define pricing strategy and margin positioning at global and regional level
  • Set customer segmentation standards and ensure regular reviews. Develop and maintain relationships with key customers. Drive organization to develop high, wide and deep relationships to formulate, maintain and implement key account plans that include milestones and strategies.
  • Ensure proper demand plan and S&OP process
  • Support Regional Market Managers in sales strategy and organization. Support commercial team for key customers and execution of sales strategy
  • Supervise sales allocations and internal / external support
     

Talent management and Arkema 3D collaboration:

  • Lead global teams on establishing priorities, benchmarking, metrics and overseeing management to achieve exceptional results from the team through rigorous planning and management. Ensure optimal utilizations of all resources. Continuously strive to upgrade design of global 3D UG organization.
  • Collaborates with other Arkema businesses on 3D strategies and initiatives
  • Create and engage high performance regional and global teams that include direct reports in (various) job groups, breaks down barriers to foster an environment of collaboration
  • Partner with HR to recruit, develop, manage, recognize and reward people in the organization
  • Represent Arkema in a professional and ethical manner
  • Prioritize and manage resources
  • Provide quality service and assistance to all employees, customers, potential customers, vendors on an on-going basis
  • Complies with all company policies, procedures and safety efforts; ensures that all areas of the business ensure same level of compliance within their teams

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

  • Requires approximately 30 to 50% travel (global - all regions)
  • Requires regular interaction with senior executives, client groups, Arkema colleagues in regional and global headquarters offices, especially from Coating Solutions Platform
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents

REQUIRED EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS /WORK EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required in a technical field or related business field; an advanced degree (Masters, MBA or higher) is preferred
  • Minimum of 12 (with advanced degree) to 15 years (with Bachelor’s Degree) of related experience, including business/commercial management and leadership experience.
  • Operational and multi-regional/global business and product management experience in a specialty chemical/materials company is required.
  • Experience leading team members, including business and/or product management professionals
