Bostik, a leading global adhesive specialist, provides lamination adhesives for flexible packaging used in food, medical and industrial applications. Their adhesives enhance the performance of multilayered packaging films by providing strong bonding, added functionality and improved conversation efficiency.

 

We are seeking a Chemist or Chemical Engineer to work on innovation, product development and optimization of our lamination adhesives product range in North America.

 

 

ORGANIZATION

 

  • Reports to Sr Research Scientist AP&C Flexible Laminating

 

SAFETY

 

 

KNOW HOW

 

  • Master’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering. Alternatively, bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years’ experience in polymer chemistry, preferably in the adhesive industry.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the design of polyurethane, polyester and acrylics polymers, preferably around lamination adhesive for flexible food packaging
  • Solid understanding about adhesion theory and reaction kinetics, especially related to polyurethane chemistry and polyester.
  • Organizes and analyzes data to explain conclusions and outcomes internally, to stake holders and supervisor.
  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knows how to apply Design of Experiment techniques.
  • Takes ownership of equipment and processes used in work group and is able to apply well-defined methodology.
  • Able to set up new research equipment, plan and execute experimental program.
  • Learns product properties and technology in area of responsibility.
  • Good understanding about statistical methods and analysis

  • Regularly publishes/presents in journal/symposium and communicate with business colleagues related to his/her field of research.
