Shipping/Receiving Technician Job

Job Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving Technician is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient handling of incoming and outgoing chemical materials, equipment, and supplies. This role ensures compliance with DOT regulations, maintains accurate inventory records, and supports warehouse operations through proper material mangement.
Essential Duties:
Core Operations (Receiviing, Shipping & Inventory) – 60%
• Receives materials following established HES and shipping/receiving procedures.
• Performs monthly inventory for all materials and cycle counts.
• Pulls SAP deliveries for customer orders, prepares and inspect products for shipments and loads trucks.
• Performs pre-trip and post trop inspections on trailers.
• Will work in buildings/trailers with below freezing temperatures; frequent use of fall protection required for receiving materials from isotainers.
• Perform minor plant maintenance
Data & Systems Management – 10%
• Accurately enters information into SAP
• Creates purchase requistions and issues Goods reciept in SAP
Housekeeping– 10%
• Maintains housekeeping of all warehouses and freezers, loading and unloading areas.
Safety, Compliance & Emergency Response – 10%
• Participates on the Site Emergency Response Team
• Attends shift safety discussions (Tool Box and loss control meetings
Continuous Improvement & Special Projects – 10%
• Represents dept. by participating in work teams, MOC’s, PHA’s, audits or other environmental, safety or quality related effort.
• Completes special projects as assigned (updates procedures, present safety meetings, annual WH audits, etc.)
• Supports the site HESQ policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
• Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
• Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma; AAS Degree Preferred
DOT Regulations training preferrred; Class D Water Operation License prefferred
Competencies:
• Knowledge of Hazardous Waste Handling, Spill Prevention and Response
• Forklift experience; experience with automated equipment preferred
• Good understanding of Math basics.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Good computer skills; SAP exp. in receiving preferred
Working Conditions:
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Frequent carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Must be able to bend, reach (including overhead) to access shelves, supplies, or inventory.
• Must be able to operate a forklift, pallet jack, handtruck, or other mobile equipment.
• Must be able to use Personal Protective Equipment when necessary
