Job Title: MATERIAL HANDLER II (Warehouse)
SITUATION IN ORGANIZATION
Reports directly to the Logistics Manager, indirectly to the Lead Shipper Receiver.
JOB DIMENSIONS
The Material Handler II is responsible for shipping and receiving of raw materials, finished products and supplies. The Material Handler II is also responsible for setting up shipments and samples, repackaging and maintaining inventory.
KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receiving
- Receiving and unloading of non-bulk raw materials and STO’s. Confirm packing list, COA and received materials match & quantities are correct. Receive into ERP system, print, and attach bar code labels to each package verifying product and lot information matches. Scan and place in proper bin location.
- Sampling of raws as required by QC lab.
- Transferring finished product from production, verifying quantities, scanning and placing into proper bin location.
- Receiving and distributing small parts deliveries and misc plant supplies.
Shipping
- Pull product from ERP specified storage location using system generated pick lists.
- Prepare product for shipment (capping, banding, applying labels and other customer requirements noted on pick list).
- Printing shipping docs and labels for shipments (BOL’s, packing lists, COA’s, address labels)
- Load product for transport, confirming material, packaging type, quantities and carrier match shipping documents to meet DOT requirements.
- Sampling of product as required by shipping instructions.
- Repackaging or relabeling products for customer orders as required.
- Completing all paperwork and ERP transactions when product is loaded onto a truck.
Miscellaneous
- Performing equipment safety checks.
- Follows all safety requirements and uses proper personal protective equipment.
- Be a member of the Emergency Response Team and respond in the event of an emergency.
- Actively participate in the plant Behavior Based Safety program by doing observations
- Report any HES incidents and, as appropriate, participate in incident investigations.
- Use warehouse management bar code scanners as materials are received, moved and shipped
- Pour, package, and stage samples as required, using appropriate PPE.
- Assist in DPR10 bottling area as needed.
- Responsible for assisting SAP/Inventory specialist with cycle counts
- As time allows, assist in other operations in the plant as directed
CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT
- Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
- Actively participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Based Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
- Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents
- Manufacturing environment with chemical, physical, ergonomic and electrical hazards. Work includes a variety of physical and biological conditions including, but not limited to, proximity to moving mechanical parts and powered industrial trucks, exposure to hot work or steam, working at heights, working with sharp tools and exposure to slip hazards and wet areas.
- Work is primarily performed in the manufacturing complex; however, worker is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions.
- Worker is subject to atmospheric conditions, including, but not limited to, exposure to dust, chemicals, and odors.
- Works with or around hazardous substances.
- Must become high rise certified.
- Must become 49 CFR trained, IATA, and IMDG trained.
- Work requires use of protective clothing and equipment.
- Scheduled hours may vary in shifts and length.
- Noise level in the work environment is below the OSHA permissible exposure limits.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS /WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum high school graduate
- One to two years’ manufacturing experience preferred
- Fork truck and high-rise experience preferred
- One to two years’ warehouse experience preferred.
