Position Title: Logistics Coordinator

Report to Manager Title: Production Manager

 

Job Summary:

Responsible for utilizing standard processes and technology to manage material movement including raw materials and finished goods within a manufacturing site(s). Responsible for Shipping and Receiving activities, communication with carriers, investigating issues, etc. Routine interaction within the plant business unit as well as carriers is required. Professionalism and integrity are essential.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Logistics Administration 50%

  • Update the tank truck calendar schedule and communicate to carriers for tank truck orders.
  • Coordinate all truckload orders with carriers.
  • Utilize TMS Transportation Management Software to analyze the ability for load consolidation to drive freight cost savings.
  • Ensure shipments are in compliance with DOT regulations to meet customer required delivery dates.
  • Communicate plant rules to outside carriers and drivers.
  • Manage export shipments with Freight Forwarder to meet cut off loading dates.
  • Accurately complete IMDG/IATA forms, verify shipment compliance with international regulations and submit to freight forwarder in a timely manner.
  • Prepare safe and accurate shipping/receiving paperwork and reporting in the ERP system; receipt/unloading of incoming raw materials, packaging and supplies.
  • Confirm all labels and paperwork are accurate for customer requirements.
  • Review all customer orders and stock transport orders in SAP the ERP system, communicating any delays to the Logistics Production Manager and customer service group and offer solutions to delays.
  • Maintain all shipping order paperwork for the last two years in the filing system.
  • Assist Logistics Production Manager with TMS EDMS documents related to functions within the shipping office.
  • Coordinate all return empty cylinders and Schutz containers to the appropriate locations.
  • Process all FedEx and UPS parcel shipments for the entire site.

 

Inventory Management / Control 30%

  • Review and reconcile daily and monthly warehouse monitor and troubleshoot inventory discrepancies and warehouse management stocking locations making necessary adjustments.
  • Use the ERP system, bar code system and other computer resources for the coordination and control of raw materials and finished goods inventory.
  • Assist in the use of the bar code technology throughout the plant.
  • Track blocked, aged, and scrap inventories. Analyze and assist in its management.
  • As requested, collect data and prepare management reports that define the plant performance parameters.
  • Verify all Return Material Authorizations (RMA’s) and perform transactions associated with the return.
  • Assist production with inventory discrepancies.
  • Process all inventory scrap approval paperwork and perform inventory adjustments in ERP system.

 

Support 20%

  • Provide backup to any Arkema Americas shipping location as needed.
  • Coordinate annual physical inventory and/or monthly cycle counting activities. Including a schedule for cycle counting to ensure all bins are counted annually to meet the internal control requirement. Perform quarterly counts of all sample inventory of final products (1#, 8#, 40# containers).
  • Responsible for ordering miscellaneous supplies for the warehouse.
  • Process all hot rush pre-ship samples.
  • Provides site IT support for the warehouse including set up for FedEx, UPS, new printers
  • Trains shippers on all software updates
  • Troubleshoots warehouse issues, working with both internal and external customers

 

Minimum Qualifications and Education Required

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an inventory environment preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with logistics practices and methods including Bulk Tank Trucks and Package Materials.
  • Minimum 1 year directly working with DOT regulations.

 

Education and area of focus

  • High School diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • ERP system knowledge; Strong SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of text processing, spreadsheets, database usage and equation-solving software.
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge and experience in bar code systems, including hand-held scanners, location and item tracking with bar codes.

 

Certifications/Trainings:

  • DOT/IATA/IMDG certification preferred.

  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents.

 

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

  • Position is based in manufacturing facility with all inherent risks. Will work with operators, managers and site champions to accomplish goals.#LI-MS1
