Position Title: Logistics Analyst

Report to Manager Title: Production Manager

Job Summary:

Responsible for utilizing standard processes and technology to manage material movement including raw materials and finished goods within a manufacturing site(s). Responsible for Shipping and Receiving activities, communication with carriers, investigating issues, etc. Routine interaction within the plant business unit as well as carriers is required. Professionalism and integrity are essential.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Logistics Administration 50%

• Evaluate tank truck ship dates, customer needs and manpower constraints; manage the tank truck calendar schedule ensuring communication with carriers for orders.
• Coordinate truckload orders with carriers, utilizing the ZMOST report in SAP; collect shipments must be scheduled via manual process and Prepaid shipments will be processed via Transportation Management Software
• Processing all LTL orders for the site including collect shipments which are scheduled manually (60% of the order volumes) and also prepaid shipments which are scheduled via Transportation Management Software and also manually emailed to our core carriers (40% of the order volumes).
• Review orders in SAP to ensure any opportunities for consolidation are considered; Utilize Transportation Management Software for load consolidation to drive freight cost savings.
• Processes all Stock Transport Orders in SAP and Transportation Management System including the troubleshooting required to allow the system to transfer raw materials between plants.
• Ensure shipments are in compliance with DOT regulations to meet customer required delivery dates. Verifying UN packages are compliant for hazardous shipments.
• Communicate plant rules to outside carriers and drivers.
• Manage export shipments with Freight Forwarder to meet cut off loading dates.
• Accurately complete IMDG/IATA forms, verify shipment compliance with international regulations and submit to freight forwarder in a timely manner.
• Prepare safe and accurate shipping/receiving paperwork and reporting in the ERP system; receipt/unloading of incoming raw materials, packaging and supplies.
• Confirm all labels and paperwork are accurate for customer requirements.
• Review all customer orders and stock transport orders in the ERP system, communicating any delays to the Production Manager and customer service group and offer solutions to delays.
• Maintain all shipping order paperwork for the last two years in the filing system.
• Assist Production Manager with EDMS documents related to functions within the shipping office.
• Coordinate all return empty cylinders and Schutz containers to the appropriate locations.
• Process all miscellaneous FedEx and UPS parcel shipments for the entire site.
• Performs the steps for the plant for all Out of SAP shipments including verification of proper UN packaging and proper DOT labelling.

Inventory Management / Control 30%

• Review and reconcile daily and monthly warehouse monitor and troubleshoot inventory discrepancies and warehouse management stocking locations making necessary adjustments.
• Use the ERP system, bar code system and other computer resources for the coordination and control of raw materials and finished goods inventory.
• Assist in the use of the bar code technology throughout the plant.
• Track blocked, aged, and scrap inventories. Analyze and assist in its management including coordination and execution of a monthly meeting to review with Supply Chain
• As requested, collect data and prepare management reports that define the plant performance parameters.
• Verify all Return Material Authorizations (RMA’s) and perform transactions associated with the return.
• Assist production with inventory discrepancies
• Process all inventory scrap approval paperwork and perform inventory adjustments in ERP system
• Responsible for moving inventory related to warehouse managed SKU’s to allow for orders to properly allocate for shipment.

Supply Chain Support 10%

• Provide backup to any Arkema Americas shipping location as needed.
• Coordinate annual physical inventory and/or monthly cycle counting activities. Including a schedule for cycle counting to ensure all bins are counted annually to meet the internal control requirement. Perform quarterly counts of all sample inventory of final products (1#, 8#, 40# containers).
• Responsible for ordering miscellaneous supplies for the warehouse.
• Process all hot rush pre-ship samples. Including manually writing on inventory in SAP as needed.
• Process all sample shipments for the site in SAP and Transportation Management System including DOT hazardous from 1# to 40# and processing each order in a separate system for UPS or FedEx parcel.
• Provides site IT support for the warehouse including set up for FedEx, UPS, new printers

Leadership 10%

• Develops and reviews monthly metrics reports for the Chatham warehouse including OTIF, shipping metrics, and warehouse capacity information.
• Trains shippers on all software updates
• Troubleshoots warehouse issues, working with both internal and external customers

Minimum Qualifications and Education Required

• Minimum 5 years’ of inventory experience, chemical manufacturing logistics experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in one or more of the following areas: Data Analysis, Delivery Management, and/or Distribution Management or Logistics Management.
• Expertise in DOT regulations; DOT/IATA/IMDG certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience using bar code systems, including hand held scanners, location and item tracking with bar codes in a supply chain environment.

Education and area of focus

• Bachelors’ in Supply Chain or similar preferred OR High School diploma of General Equivalency Diploma with 7 years of direct experience in a supply chain role.

• Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
• Certified Logistics Associate (CLA)
• Certification in Transportation and Logistics (CLT)

• Strong working knowledge of logistics practices and methods including Bulk Tank Trucks and Package Materials
• Strong working knowledge of text processing, spreadsheets, database usage and equation-solving software.

• Position is based in manufacturing facility with all inherent risks. Will work with operators, managers and site champions to accomplish goals.
