Staff Reliability Engineer

Location: Calvert City, Kentucky
Division: Fluorochemicals (DFL) / Fluoropolymers (DFP)
Reports To: Maintenance Operations Manager

Arkema is seeking a Staff Reliability Engineer to join our team in Calvert City, KY. This role is ideal for a motivated engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about driving continuous improvement in plant reliability and performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and plant performance (40%)
  • Maintain and optimize SAP/PM Computerized Maintenance Management System (10%)
  • Support Mechanical Integrity programs for pressure vessels, tanks, relief devices, and rotating equipment (10%)
  • Conduct equipment failure analysis and troubleshooting (10%)
  • Additional responsibilities (30%) include:
    • Collaborating on capital projects
    • Performing equipment criticality assessments
    • Reporting on reliability KPIs
    • Supporting predictive maintenance (vibration, infrared, lubrication, etc.)
    • Assisting with field coordination and supervision of projects

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related field)
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience (2–3 years for internal candidates from Arkema’s Developing Engineer Program)
  • Strong knowledge of fixed and rotating equipment, instrumentation, and project engineering
  • Familiarity with SAP/PM, predictive maintenance tools, and industry codes (RAGAGEP)
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt certification is a plus

Work Environment

  • Based at Arkema’s Calvert City site with minimal travel
  • Must comply with OSHA 29CFR, EPA 40CFR, and Arkema’s internal safety and environmental policies
