Senior Process Engineer

The position provides process leadership and technical support for the entire site operation, including the areas of 141b, 142, or 134a and coproduced HCL providing leadership on technology upgrades and project support. Frequently supervises up to 13 hourly operators during absence of Production Supervisors

  • Responsible for plant process performance and continuous improvement.  
  • Participates in and provides input as necessary to the planning, scheduling and completion of plant turnarounds or shutdowns.
  • Benchmark best practices in safety, operations and quality across plants. Assists Maintenance & Technical departments with plant process control systems. 
  • Participates or leads advanced troubleshooting and appropriate root-cause analysis; implements appropriated corrective actions.  Supports the production engineer and operations manager in troubleshooting significant process upsets 


  • Applies principles or mass, flow, reactions, heat transfer, etc. to process and equipment design.
  • Leads process improvement projects, including MOC/PSSR requirements.  Generates list of improvement opportunities for the plant to feed the capital project pipeline, Arkenergy and Optimo efforts.
  • Assesses data to track and improve yield, reliability, cost energy and key raw material usage.
  • Actively contributes to site PHAs and implement recommendations.
  • Prepares technical and business reports and presentations for plant leadership.
  • Prepares training materials for personnel at the site in process upgrades, modification etc.
  • Mentors Developmental Engineers and other new employees as appropriate.
  • Works with other functions to address issues around quality, products, planning and customers.
  • Completes scheduled periodic training on time and as required


BS degree Chemical Engineering or equivalent in engineering

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a PSM chemical manufacturing environment including the successful completion of the Arkema Developing Engineer Program.  

Six Sigma Greenbelt certified or active pursuit of certification.

Working knowledge of federal health & safety regulations for chemical industry
