Job Title: Pipefitter/Welder 1/C

Overview:

As a Pipefitter/Welder at Arkema’s Calvert City plant, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our production facilities. You’ll work with pipes, fittings, process and welding equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Pipe Installation and Repair:
   • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, and fittings according to specifications.
   • Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure seamless integration of piping systems.
2. Welding:
   • Perform welding tasks using various techniques (e.g., TIG, MIG, stick welding).
   • Weld pipes, joints, and structural components to meet safety and quality standards.
3. Blueprint Interpretation:
   • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
   • Translate design specifications into practical pipefitting and welding tasks.
4. Safety Compliance:
   • Adhere to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
   • Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns promptly.
5. Quality Assurance:
   • Ensure welds meet quality standards (e.g., no leaks, proper penetration).
   • Conduct inspections and tests to verify compliance with specifications.
6. Collaboration:
   • Work closely with maintenance teams, engineers, and supervisors.
   • Communicate effectively to troubleshoot issues and optimize processes.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience as a pipefitter or welder is essential (5 years or more).
• Certifications: Possession of relevant certifications (e.g., welding certifications) is preferred.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in pipefitting techniques and welding processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Good communication skills for effective teamwork.
